It was only a few days ago that Brian opened up about an abusive incident he didn't want Hayden to put in her memoir, which she did anyway. Amid the buzz about Hayden being spotted recently with Brian, here's a look at their tumultuous relationship and his recent confession about becoming abusive towards the actress.

If the reports are to be believed, Brian is from South Carolina and moved to Los Angeles to work in real estate and join the world of cinema. In 2018, he met Hayden through mutual friends, reportedly shortly after the actress called off her engagement with her former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko. Soon, the couple started dating. What followed was a series of domestic violence incidents and arrests. Brian and Hayden had a tumultuous relationship for 4-5 years.
It was in 2019 that Brian was charged with domestic violence, in which prosecutors alleged that he 'willingly' inflicted corporal injury that resulted in a traumatic condition for Hayden. Later, however, the charges were dropped. Reportedly, in 2020, Brian was arrested in Wyoming, and later that year, he was charged with 8 counts, including felony domestic violence, four felony charges of corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, a misdemeanor charge of battery on a spouse, and also dissuading Hayden from testifying against him.
It was in 2021, when Brian was sentenced to 45 days in jail for pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse. Apart from that, he was sentenced to 4 years of formal probation, 52 mandatory domestic violence classes, a 500 dollar fine, and a 5-year protective order. The next year, the couple again hit the headlines as they were involved in an altercation outside an LA bar. Speaking of their relationship, they brokeup in 2022 and reportedly reconnected as friends later.
According to reports by Just Jared, in the same year, during an interview, Brian was seen at her apartment, and she admitted having feelings there. It's not known whether they were back together; however, they were spotted together this year as well.

In May 2026, during Hayden's publication of her memoir, Brian confessed to turning abusive towards her. He, during an interview with TMZ, revealed that he wanted Hayden not to detail one particular incident of his abusive behavior towards her; however, she did it anyway. Sharing how badly he behaved, Brian said:
"There’s a story where I was drunk, right? Hayden was standing across the room and I had a phone in my hand and I said, ‘Hayden I’ll give you 10 seconds to run as fast as you can before I throw it at you.' Who wants to read something about themselves, right? But you gotta be vulnerable and I did it. I did it, so.”
