It was almost two years ago on Koffee With Karan when Hardik Pandya was asked "What is the most embarrassing thing you have done in the locker room?" To which, he had replied, "I like to spank." Hardik, however, clarified, "I just enjoy hitting the boys." Spilling the details about the day when he lost his virginity, Hardik had said, "When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, Main karke aaya hai aaj.” Highlighting how "cool" he is with his family members, Hardik had continued, "At a party my parents asked me acha tera wala kaun sa hai? I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women) and they were like waah proud of you beta." When Karan had probed further, "If you all hit on the same women, then how do you decide?" Hardik asserted, "Nahi nahi aisa kuch nahi hai, talent pe hota hai. Jisko mila woh leke jao.”

Now, in an interview with The Times of India, almost after two years of his “Main karke aaya hai aaj” controversy, Hardik Pandya reacts on being called a misogynist. Revealing how he can dislike women when his home is all about them, Hardik said, "I really didn't know what 'misogynistic' meant. At first, I laughed thinking it was some word being used to make fun of me. Then a friend said, it means "someone who strongly dislikes women. How can I dislike women? Mom, didi, bhabhi, Natasa - they're all women. I adore them. My home is all about women. We are, because they are." Recalling how he had lost control over his life for the first time post the controversy, Hardik continued, "For the first time, I wasn't in control of my own life. Everything around me started to crumble. I had to lock myself up. If not for my family, I'd have lost a great deal of everything. They were and continue to remain the backbone - the women in my family."

Since his statements had outraged netizens for his sexist comments, the show too, had received a lot of flak back then. So much so that the makers had taken down that episode from the website and app. Admitting that he got carried away with the nature of the show, Hardik had written on his apology post, “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect.” (Also Read: Ravi Dubey's Wish For Sargun Mehta's Parents On Their Anniversary Proves He Is A Doting 'Jamai Raja')
