The much-awaited film of 2026, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, directed by Vir Das has finally hit the theatres. The spy-comedy film starring Aamir Khan, Vir Das, Mona Singh, Farida Jalaal and more had been generating a lot of buzz before its release. The film also marks the comeback of actor, Imran Khan. The film, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos tells the story of a kind-hearted man, 'Happy Patel', who dreams to be a spy. He wants to prove himself; however, he is never seen as a suitable person for a serious mission. Eventually, things change, when 'Happy' is sent to India for a real mission, involving a missing scientist. Soon, the serious and important mission turns into a chaotic and unexpected ride as 'Happy Patel' lands into dangerous situations. Throughout his journey, he finds out more about himself, faces powerful enemies and more.

As soon as Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos hit the theatres on January 16, 2026, multiple users took to their X handles (formerly Twitter) and shared their thoughts on the same. Overall, users seemed to be impressed with the film. While some appreciated the humour, others hailed the actors for their amazing performances. One user commented:

"Just finished Happy Patel. Didn’t expect them to pull off a comedy with such absurd humor. I liked the jokes in it. Not sure how it will fare with the mainstream audience as the humor is subjective…but I feel it’s definitely better than the same template Bollywood comedies I’ve seen lately."

Imran Khan got a role in the film through just a text message

A few days ago, the director of Happy Patel, Vir Das, took to his Instagram handle to share a screenshot of a chat between him and Katti Batti fame, Imran Khan. From the screenshot it can be said that the comedian had almost completed writing the film, Happy Patel, when Imran texted him asking for a cameo in the same. Later, Vir Das planned a cameo and beautifully incorporated Imran Khan in the film. It is worth mentioning that this marks the return of Imran after almost a decade.
