Hansika Motwani Finally Breaks Silence On Taking Hormonal Injections At The Age Of 16 To Look Adult

In the latest episode of her show, 'Love Shaadi Drama', Hansika Motwani addressed the rumours that her mother, Mona Motwani, gave her hormonal injections to grow up as a woman.

Popular actress, Hansika Motwani became a household name when she made her debut as a child artist in the television show, Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Later, she was seen in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer, Koi Mil Gaya, and received a lot of recognition. However, when she made her debut as an adult in the film, Aap Kaa Surroor, in 2007, rumours started making rounds in the media, reporting that Hansika had taken hormonal injections to look all grown up.

In the latest episode of her show, Hansika’s Love Shaadi Drama, Hansika Motwani was seen consoling her mother, Mona Motwani, who was depressed about the baseless news reports that surfaced on the internet after Hansika announced her wedding to her friend’s ex-husband, Sohael Khaturiya. However, being a loving daughter, Hansika tried to calm her mother down and reminded her how they dealt with the rumours that she had taken growth hormone injections. Reacting to the same, the actress said:

“This is the expense of being a celebrity. They wrote such crap when I was 21, you know what I am talking about… If I could have taken it that time, I can take it this time. Crap was written about you too, everyone wrote that I have taken injections to grow up. People said that my mum has given me injections, hormonal injections to grow up as a woman.”

Hansika Motwani's mother, Mona Motwani reveals the reason why her daughter looked all grown up back then

Back then, the gossipmongers believed that Hansika Motwani's mother, Mona Motwani, who is a dermatologist, had given her daughter the hormonal injections to look all grown up. However, in the same episode, Hansika’s mother refuted the claims and revealed that since they are Punjabis, their daughters shoot up between the age of 12 and 16. In her words:

“If that is true, then I must be richer than Tata, Birla, some millionaire. If that is true, then I would have said, ‘Maine apni beti ko diya hai, tum bhi aao, aa kar apni haddi baddi karvao. What I am surprised about is that people who write this, unke pass dimaag naam ki cheez nahi hoti hai kya. We are Punjabi people, our daughters shoot up between the age of 12 and 16.”

Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya have been best friends for years. Moreover, Sohael was Hansika's best friend, Rinky Bajaj's husband, but the duo had got divorced. Years later, Hansika and Sohael fell in love with each other, and they decided to take their friendship to the next level by tying the knot. Hansika Motwani got married to her businessman-boyfriend, Sohael Khaturiya, in a royal wedding on December 4, 2022. Held at the 150-year-old palace, Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur, their wedding became the talk of the town.

Soon after her wedding, Hansika Motwani announced her show, Love Shaadi Drama, which is based on her real-life wedding and features many unseen glimpses of the same. Later, in an interview with The Indian Express, Hansika opened up about her decision to document her wedding for a web series and shared that she wanted her fans to be a part of it. Hansika revealed that her husband, Sohael was initially uncomfortable with the idea of documenting their wedding as he’s not used to cameras. She stated that everything was shot very organically, but she was criticised for using her personal moments for a show.
