Gul Panag’s wedding was an intimate affair in Chandigarh, with her close friends and her family members by her side at the wedding. Do you know, Gul had worn her mother’s lehenga on the day of her wedding and her mother-in-law’s on their sangeet? Yes, it was indeed to make their wedding a personalised affair and a memorable one. However, the highlight of the Dor actress’s wedding was her bikers doli! Yes, on the account of her 8th anniversary yesterday, Gul revisited her wedding days and shared memorable insights from the same.
Gul Panag took to Instagram and wrote, “8 years and counting. I knew I wanted a wedding that was super fun, small and intimate . Had no idea how to go about. Then when we attended @shru2kill and @dontpanic79 ‘s wedding in Goa - we found our inspiration. Our primary goal was to enjoy the wedding with our loved ones. My mother was the ‘wedding planner’ and she executed our vision to perfection featuring every single custom with a fun twist! I wore my mother’s lehnga for the wedding and my mother in law’s for the sangeet.”
Gul further added, “I’m often asked about the doli or ‘getaway vehicle ‘. The initial plan was to go on a bike. Since I was wearing my mother’s lehnga, I was afraid of getting it stuck in the wheel. So the husband found a fabricator in Nangal who made side cars and ordered one. It arrived the night before the wedding. Husband, his brother @rusty_clicks and @sherbirpanag were up all night attaching it to the bike ( it’s quite a task). We then got all our friends and family to ride @royalenfield bikes as part of the procession that included women riders ( @Simrit kaur34 @simranpotnis and my Bhoa their mother, then 65 years old) along with the Doli. This ride was definitely the highlight! More pictures in stories. #anniversary #swipe.” And then, she shared a couple of unseen pictures from her wedding. Here you go!
Amazing, right? It was only on August 2018, when Gul Panag shared the news of her embracing motherhood at the age of 39. Successfully managing to keep her pregnancy a secret, Gul had shared the first picture of herself with her baby boy, Nihal Singh Panag Attari with Mumbai Mirror and ever since, her Instagram page has been flooding with family pictures of the awesome threesome at most times. In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Gul Panag shared that she had a tough IVF pregnancy, with her little baby having to spent three months at the NICU. Speaking about the same, the Ab Tak Chhappan 2 actress stated, “We had a tough IVF pregnancy, and coupled with the stress of Nihal spending the first three weeks of his life in NICU, I wasn’t prepared for him. Maybe that’s the reason it felt so overwhelming in the beginning. We’re conditioned to believe that mothers will have an instant bond with their children, but that’s not always true. It’s okay to take your time and find your own way through this madness. Personally, I’ve realised that as each day goes by, Nihal and I learn more about each other and our relationship keeps getting stronger.”
In an interview with Verve magazine, Gul Panag also shared about keeping her pregnancy a secret, “Rishi and I both value privacy in our personal lives. Nihal’s birth has been very special to us. We conceived a couple of years after we decided to have a baby, and he was a preemie, born at seven months, so instinctively we wanted to protect him, without the distraction that follows media attention.” (Also Checkout! Has her relationship with her husband hubby, Rishi changed after they welcomed their baby boy in their lives? Gul Panag shared about her date nights with her hubby and stated, “Of course Nihal gets a lot of our attention, but Rishi and I do make time to be with each other. We try and catch a movie a week in the theatre. We’ve made Nihal a part of the life we’ve always lead with travel, adventure and exploration. He’s already been on a couple of flights and has done a few road trips.”
Further revealing about parenting Nihal together with her hubby, Gul Panag had stated, “Raising Nihal well is a priority for Rishi and me. I believe that as a society, we should focus on raising children and help them grow into responsible, respectful and happy adults. I grew up in a household that naturally respected gender equality, and am married to someone who does as well. I would want my son to be the same way. My ideal household would encourage every individual in a family to reach for the stars, with love and support for each other and the world we live in.”
Guys, how amazing is this family! Isn’t it? Keep us posted!
