The couple has made their personal issues public after their verbal spats. It all started after Sunita made comments about his relationship with Komal Rani Swarnkar, an aspiring actress. Calling him a ‘sugar daddy’, Sunita openly spoke about the actor’s affair with the aspiring actress.
Sunita Ahuja was spotted at a family court
Recently, Sunita was spotted leaving a family court, accompanied by her son, Yashvardhan. He made sure to safely escort his mom to her car, asking paps to make way for her. Unlike previously, Sunita avoided any interaction with the paps stationed outside the court. However, when a pap quipped to her about her visit to the family court, in her usual cryptic manner, Sunita said:
“Birthday manane aaye the.”
Soon, Govinda and Sunita’s divorce buzz started. Many people pointed out how the couple’s trouble is out in public, while many others sympathised with the family. However, after Sunita’s recent court appearance, it is certain that all is not well in the couple’s paradise.
What went wrong in Govinda and Sunita’s marriage?
Govinda and Sunita got married in 1987. They have been together for close to four decades. In 2024, news of Sunita and Govinda’s split surfaced in the media after it was reported that Sunita filed for a divorce at the Bandra family court. She moved the case under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion as grounds.
However, soon Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, in an interview with PTI, said that the rumours of the couple’s divorce are old news that surfaced six to seven months ago. Sunita had filed a divorce petition six to seven months ago; now everything is getting settled. After which, in 2025, the couple was seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi together.
Sunita was a part of the reality show Lock Up Season 2. In one of the episodes, she was having a conversation with Shreya Kalra which soon turned emotional as she talked about her relationship with her husband, Govinda. During the conversation, Sunita revealed feeling cheated in her marriage and shared that infidelity has been a part of her life since her marriage, as she said, ‘Chi Chi had so many affairs in his life; well, heroes and heroines do have such things.’
Sunita has given subtle hints about Govinda’s alleged relationship with a woman named Komal. However, rumours of their alleged relationship started after Govinda and Komal were spotted together at the Mumbai airport recently. Soon, people started calling him ‘cheater number one’. After his airport appearance with Komal, a pap asked Sunita about her reaction to the viral video, to which she stated, “Vinash Kale Viprit Buddhi.”
During a January 2026 chat with Miss Malini, Sunita Ahuja publicly alleged that aspiring actresses frequently seek a "sugar daddy" in the film industry to fund their lifestyles. According to Sunita, the Coolie No. 1 star has fallen prey to it. Slamming her husband, Sunita Ahuja mentioned:
“Aisi ladkiyan bahut aati hain, but tum thode hi bewakoof ho... You are 63! You have a nice family, a beautiful wife, and two grown-up children. You can't do all this at the age of 63. Tune jawani mein kiya... it's fine. Jawani mein hum bhi galtiyan karte hain, but not at this age."
