It was in 2024 when Bollywood actor, Govinda hogged the limelight after he had accidentally shot himself while cleaning his revolver. The cops who investigated the matter had ruled out foul play, but there were many rumours related to the incident. Now, Ragini Khanna, Govinda's niece, has revealed fresh details about what happened that day and whether foul play was involved.

Govinda's niece, Ragini Khanna, addresses the foul play doubts of fans in Govinda's shooting case

Govinda's niece, Ragini Khanna, sat down for an interview with Vickey Lalwani and revealed details related to the shooting incident. She shared that her mom had told her of getting a call saying that Chichi mama had been shot. They were shocked at that time when her mom told her that he had shot herself. Addressing fans' doubts regarding foul play in the Govinda shooting himself matter, Ragini shared:

“There were 200 cops at the hospital itself, and 50 cops were outside his house to know what happened. How can you escape that kind of situation if it is not genuine? I have full faith in our police. They have done their due diligence, and they got satisfactory results. Because if somebody else had been involved, he couldn’t have escaped after doing something like this to such a big personality. He was fine in a month, he stood on his feet in a month’s time."

Ragini further revealed that when she came to know about the shooting incident, her mom had rushed to the hospital, and she was pretty shocked. She had a very emotional response, so Ragini decided to go a little later to prevent creating more tension with her reaction. Ragini revealed that she had gone three hours late while her mom and brother had gone immediately.

When Govinda extended gratitude to his fans from the hospital post, he accidentally shot himself

Govinda had shared a heartfelt voice recording from the hospital where he reassured his fans that he was recovering. Govinda had extended his gratitude to his supporters and the medical staff who had taken extremely good care of him. Govinda, in his voice note, had addressed that the bullet was taken out and thanked Dr. Agarwal and the other doctors for the same. In his words:

"Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam."

Govinda had addressed the media after being discharged from the hospital

Post Govinda was discharged from the hospital, he spoke to the media for the very first time. He shared his side of the story related to shooting himself in the leg with his revolver at his house. Govinda revealed that it was an accident and there was no need to link it to anything. Addressing the media with folded hands, Govinda said:

“I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the hospital for taking care of me during this critical time. Thank you to everyone, all the politicians and artists who called and visited me. I have no words to express my gratitude. Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened. Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua?"
