Girija Oak Reveals Shah Rukh Khan Stopped Jawan Shoot During Son, Aryan's Case, 'It Was Bad...'

Aryan Khan has become the talk of the town after the release of his directorial debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. While Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo in the Netflix series, Gauri Khan produced it under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment. Earlier, this year, SRK made headlines after he won his first National Film Award for his 2023 film, Jawan. The action thriller directed by Atlee became a blockbuster hit. In a recent interview, Girija Oak Godbole shared her working experience with the superstar.

Girija Oak Godbole recalls shooting with SRK when he was going through a tough phase

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Girija shared that she had shot with Shah Rukh Khan when the latter was going through the toughest phase of his life. She mentioned that when they were shooting for the film, Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan, was in custody due to a false dr** case. For the uninitiated, in October 2021, Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and accused of having involvement in d**gs case. Girjia highlighted how another controversy crept into SRK’s life during the legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral. She added that although a lot was happening at that time, the superstar was holding himself gracefully. She was quoted as saying:

"I had shot with him during the most difficult phase of his life. While shooting for Jawan, the Aryan case was going on. This was followed by another controversy during Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral when he said a dua (blessing). People had started accusing him, and it was all in very bad taste. In spite of this happening, the craze that man holds."

Girija Oak Godbole shares her working experience with Shah Rukh Khan

In the same conversation, Girija shared her working experience with Shah Rukh Khan. She mentioned that neither did the superstar lose his cool on set, nor did he shout at anyone while going through the turmoil in his life at that time. The actress highlighted that she got to see SRK through all the phases. She was quoted as saying:

"Not once has he lost his cool on set; he never shouted at anyone, and I’m sure he must be going through turmoil in his life at that time, but he showed up on time no matter what and always did his part well. And two years is a long time to judge anyone’s personality, and I shot with him for many months, so I have really gotten to see him through all of these phases."

Girija Oak Godbole reveals that SRK stopped the Jawan shoot for 3 to 4 months due to the Aryan Khan case

Further in the same interview, Girija revealed that when his son was dragged into the case, Shah Rukh Khan didn’t attend any public event for 3-4 months and also stopped shooting for Jawan. She mentioned that during that time, no one had access to Shah Rukh Khan and met him when they resumed shooting. She added that by the time the case got over, SRK was the same person, professional and graceful. She was quoted as saying:

"When the case happened for 3-4 months, Shah Rukh did not attend any public event, and he was also not shooting for Jawan. So I didn’t see him during this time; nobody had access to Mr Khan at that point in time. We met him when we resumed shooting, and by that time the case was almost over, and he was the same person that he was before, absolutely professional, composed, and graceful."
