Genelia Deshmukh Opens Up On How Her Hubby, Riteish Deshmukh And Kids Helped Her To Fight COVID-19

The world has accepted the 'new normal' of maintaining social distancing and keeping the faces masked to stay way from the coronavirus. The pandemic has not only slowed our lives, but it has also affected our peace of mind. The pandemic can make the strongest of hearts feel numb, and while we have to beat it on our own, it can leave the entire family scared with the thoughts of 'what if'.  It was on January 30, 2020, when the Novel Coronavirus was declared as a Public Health Emergency of International level. And now it's been eight months, and life still hasn't gotten back on track. (Recommend Read: Virat Kohli Reveals His And Anushka Sharma's Reaction When They Had Found Out About Her Pregnancy)

Amid all the chaos of pandemic, we were shocked to know when Bollywood actress, Genelia Deshmukh had revealed that she as tested COVID-19 positive and had gotten recovered from it. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a picture of her note, which could be read as "Hi. I was tested COVID positive three weeks ago. I was asymptomatic for 21 days. With God's grace, I tested COVID negative today. As much as I count my blessings that my battle with this disease has been much easier, but at the same time I must admit that these last 21 days in the isolation have been the most challenging for me to deal with. No amount of facetime and digital immersion can kill the evil of loneliness.  I am happy to be back with my family and loved ones. Surround yourselves with love... that's true strength, and it's all one needs. Test early, eat healthy, stay fit, the only way to fight this monster. Love, Genelia."

Recently, in an interview with the Mid-Day, Genelia talked about the tough fight and how her hubby, Riteish helped her recover. She shared the whole story of finding out COVID-19 positive, "We were in close contact with someone who had tested positive, so we did the tests as a safety measure. I was sure I hadn't contracted the virus as I didn't show any symptoms. So, it was surprising when I was the only one in the family to test positive. Though I remained asymptomatic, I tested positive again after 14 days. So, I was recommended another week of quarantine." (Also Read: Esha Deol's Rare Childhood Picture With 'Papa', Dharmendra, Standing On His Back For Horse Ride)

Genelia further shared how difficult it was to be without her kids, "My doctor had warned me that those quarantining feel bouts of loneliness. It was tough to be locked away from Riteish and the kids. Thankfully, Riteish, my mother and mother-in-law, Riaan, Rahyl and my friends would take turns calling me. They made sure I didn't feel lonely."

Genelia often shares snippets of her life on her Instagram handle. On her son, Riaan's birthday, she had penned a beautiful note which perfectly described the unsaid emotions of every mother for her 'first-born'. The actress' note could be read as "Dearest Riaan! Every parent says "I don't want him to grow up, I want to freeze this age forever". But I don't. I want to enjoy every year of yours, I want to see you grow into a fine young man, I want to give you wings to fly and I'd like to be the wind beneath those wings. I want to tell you that life is tough but you are tougher, I want you to always believe in yourself no matter what happens cause I will always believe in you. Apart from everything I want and I wish for you, the one thing I never want to fail to let you know, is that I love you so so so much and you are the greatest thing that happened to me. There is nothing I'd rather see than your smile and nothing I'd rather hear than your laughter. For all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you. Happy Birthday to the little boy who made me a Mom- My First Born", followed by a heart emoji.

In a throwback interview with TellyChakkar, Genelia had talked about embracing motherhood and the perks of it. She had shared, "Oh yes absolutely. Riaan is just three months old now and this is the time when he needs me the most. So I have to be around him most times and I am absolutely loving it. Becoming a mother is the most rewarding thing. It makes you realise the things that your mother did for you. It makes you thank your own mother." (Don't Miss: Yami Gautam Shares A Twinning Picture With Her Sister Surilie In Matching Red Outfits, Looks Amazing)
