'He's A Tharki...' Gautami Kapoor Breaks Silence After Husband, Ram Kapoor Kissed Shreya Kalra

The environment inside Lock Upp 2 turned hot after contestant Shreya Kalra chose to speak up about her dislike towards Ram Kapoor. Following the latest leadership task, Shreya accused Ram of crossing his limits and using big words while expressing her thoughts to Shilpa Shinde. Now, Gautami Kapoor slammed those passing mean remarks about her husband, Ram. 

Gautami Kapoor broke her silence on people judging Ram Kapoor for kissing Shreya Kalra unnecessarily

On July 20, 2026, Gautami Kapoor slammed people passing mean remarks on Ram Kapoor and Shreya Kalra. The actress shared that she initially thought of not passing any remark on the show and people's dynamics. But she couldn't hold herself back as people started targeting Ram Kapoor. 

Gautami rejected all the labels people are calling Ram, said that one should hold the judgments, that these are edited episodes, and how he has a lot of love in his heart. She added that Ram went on the reality show without any strategy. She said:

"I had initially chosen not to comment on the show Lock Upp, but I believe the last 2-3 days are preventing me from staying quiet. I arrived here today to address you on my husband's behalf. Many individuals are making judgments and remarks, claiming that he's a creep, he's a tharki, he's an elderly man with personal interests. Let me explain to you all that this is how Ram is."

Gautami Kapoor added that he is not justifying his behaviour and he is a man full of heart and he entered the show without any plan. She said:

"I’m not justifying his behaviour, but he’s a man full of heart, and he entered the game show or reality show without any strategy or plan at all. Therefore, I believe that is the message being conveyed. If he acted inappropriately, then I'm certain the inmates would have confronted him during the early days of the show."

Gautami further pointed out the reason Shreya accused Ram of violating the limits, as he didn't support her to be the gang leader, which was his personal thoughts. For the unversed, Shreya made shocking claims that Ram Kapoor violated personal limits and that her father doesn't kiss her that often. Talking about it, Gautami said:

"Why is it that there’s suddenly an uproar now and people are discussing it? I’m curious, what’s the cause? The sole reason I can think of is that he didn't back Shreya as the gang leader which perhaps he ought to have since she executed the tasks excellently for him and consistently supported him. Perhaps he ought to have, but that's a personal choice. Therefore, I prefer not to remark on that. Furthermore, she mentioned that we view the program comfortably from our homes, while the inmates have been confined for the past 4-5 weeks without any outside interaction.”

When Ram Kapoor talked about infidelity 

Earlier, in an episode, Ram Kapoor left many surprised by sharing his opinions on infidelity. He stated that when a person is married for 20-25 years, they tend to go through highs and lows; they go through all kinds of seasons. And if, in a bad phase, they end up making a mistake, then it is okay if you cannot live without your partner and kids; then it is not a deal breaker.

However, Akanksha Chamola gave him a reality check and interrupted him by saying that nothing happens by mistake. She stated that to get intimate with someone, you need to take the person's clothes off and then your own. So, you cannot run away by calling it just a mistake. This left many questioning Ram Kapoor's thoughts.
