After confirming that Sharad Malhotra is indeed going to ride a horseback with Delhi-based fashion designer, Ripci Bhatia, it was on April 13, 2019, that Ripci shared a beautiful picture with her beloved, Sharad, striking a mini Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi pose, announcing to the world that they have now been rokafied! Smiling at the camera, the soon-to-be-bride had written, “Will you ever stop running...he asked.."Only if I find something worth stopping for"..she said. Sharad Malhotra and Ripci Bhatia will enter the bond of holy matrimony tomorrow (April 19, 2019) and the pre-wedding festivities have begun on full swing. A couple of pictures and videos from Sharad and Ripci’s mehendi ceremony have emerged, where the duo seem to enjoy a gala time! While Sharad was dressed in a pastel-hued kurta-pyjama and bandhgala, Ripci looked nothing short of a diva in a blue lehenga-choli, with silver-crystal work on it, hair tied in a side bun and rose jewellery for her earrings and hair. About Sharad Malhotra and Ripci Bhatia’s wedding itinerary, like any big fat Indian wedding, celebrations had already begun 2 days in advance. Theirs will be a 4-day long affair at JW Marriott Juhu, Mumbai. Pre-wedding festivities had already started from April 18, 2019, and the next few days hereon will be reserved for the pre-wedding festivities such as haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. On April 20, 2019, Sharad and Ripci will get married as per the Anand Karaj wedding ceremony in a Gurudwara and in the evening, the duo will have a Hindu wedding. In an interview with SpotboyE, Sharad Malhotra had spoken about his wedding and had stated, “I am a bit nervous, but that’s obvious. In the last 12 years, I have got married seven or eight times on screen, but this is going to be real. So, I’d say, I am more excited now (laughs). My parents are also very happy. What more could I ask for? My mother and sister have already started planning for the functions. Since Ripci is a Sikhni, there will be dholwallahs playing at our wedding." Sharad had also spoken about his honeymoon plans, “While I love the hills, Ripci loves the sea. So, we are yet to finalise our honeymoon destination (laughs). After the wedding, I’ll be back to work. Maybe, we will plan something in the next few months."
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Sharad Malhotra had opened his heart out about his soon-to-be Missus, Ripci Bhatia, maintaining relationships and dealing with heartbreaks. Sharad had shared, “When I was introduced to Ripci, I had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, we would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that we got talking on the phone, which was after my last relationship ended. What connected us probably was our fear of marriage. In fact, Ripci travelled the world for six years to avoid marriage, as the pressure on a girl at her age was mounting. I would have loved to do that, too, but I was constantly working. It’s only recently that our families got involved after we spoke over the phone for a few days. Both of us instantly realised that this is it and decided to take the plunge.”
Further speaking about how things worked out between him and Ripci Bhatia, Sharad Malhotra had shared, “For a change, I didn’t date Ripci. Everything happened in an old-fashioned way for us, as we said a ‘yes’ without meeting each other much. In fact, she asked me recently why we didn’t date before deciding to tie the knot. It just didn’t happen.” Further revealing about things evolved between them, the Banoo Main Teri Dulhann actor had said, “We didn’t meet with the intention of getting married.
