Actress, Nayanthara, often referred to as the lady superstar of South Indian cinema tied the knot with the celebrated director, Vignesh Shivan a few moments back. After seven years of togetherness, the duo tied the knot in a private ceremony in a five-star hotel in Mahabalipuram as per South Indian rituals.
It was during the shooting of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, when the lead actress of the film, Nayanthara had fallen for the director Vignesh Shivan. And since then, their fans are eagerly waiting for the two to take the plunge.

On June 9, 2022, Vignesh Shivan treated his fans with the first picture from his wedding with Nayanthara. In the picture, he was seen kissing Nayan post their wedding rituals and she looked like a royal princess in scarlet red attire. Along with the stunning outfit, Nayanthara donned a unique diamond and emerald studded jewellery. Along with the picture, he tweeted:
"On the scale of 10, She's Nayan and am the one. With God's grace, the Universe, all the blessings of our parents and best of friends. Just married #Nayanthara."
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan were supposed to get married at the Tirupati temple. However, at the last moment, the couple had changed their venue, and in a recent media interaction, Vignesh had shared the reason and had revealed:
"We wanted to get married in a temple. However, there were logistics issues and it was difficult to bring our families to Tirupati. Hence, we decided to change the wedding venue to Mahabalipuram in Chennai."

In a Tamil talk show, hosted by Divya Dharshini, Nayanthara had confirmed that she is engaged to Vignesh Shivan. When asked about the ring she had flaunted in one of her photos on social media, the actress had replied:
"It was my engagement ring. We are private people so we didn't want to have a grand ceremony. When we decide to get married, we will definitely inform our fans. Our engagement happened in the presence of our immediate family members. We haven't decided on our wedding yet."
