Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan and her husband, Nupur Shikhare had a whimsical registered marriage on January 3, 2024, in the presence of their friends and family members at Taj Lands End. Several photos and videos from the ceremony surfaced online, and eagle-eyed netizens were quick to notice that Fatima Sana Shaikh gave it a miss. Thus, people started speculating that everything is not well.
For the unversed, a few months back, reports were rife that Fatima was going to get married to her Dangal co-star, Aamir Khan. The rumours dramatically rose after Aamir divorced his second wife, Kiran Rao. However, the reports were rubbished by both the celebrities and their respective reliable sources. Later, Fatima was also present at Ira’s engagement ceremony and even posted about it on social media. Now, Fatima's absence raised many eyebrows, and a Reddit user also initiated a thread about the same.

As soon as the thread was shared online, netizens started reacting to the same. While one user commented, "But she attended the engagement and even posted about it”, another wrote, “Even I wondered the same considering she was there for Ira’s engagement and posted about it too.” Meanwhile, a third person penned, “They have a wedding in Udaipur this week probably she’ll attend that.”
Once, in an interview with Filmfare, Fatima Sana Shaikh opened up about her dating rumours with Aamir Khan and admitted that such speculations had affected her mentally. The actress admitted that at the beginning, she wasn’t quite concerned about such reports, but later, when things got heated, she felt bad for being targeted with such baseless rumours. Fatima also told people to ask her directly before assuming or coming up with such stories. She had said:
"Earlier, I used to get affected. I’d feel bad. Because I’ve never dealt with anything of this sort at such a big level. A bunch of strangers, whom I’ve never met, are writing things about me. They don’t even know if there’s any truth to it. People reading it assume that I’m ‘not a good person’. You feel like telling that person, ‘Ask me, I’ll give you an answer’. It disturbs me because I don’t want people to assume wrong things. But I’ve learnt to ignore it. Yet, there are some days when I do get affected."
Meanwhile, in one of the videos doing rounds on the internet, Aamir Khan was seen posing with the newly married couple, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare, and his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. The family was happily posing for the lens on the red carpet at the wedding ceremony. Initially, Aamir was seen standing beside Reena, but later they rearranged themselves for the cameras. Then, the actor was seen planting a kiss on Kiran Rao’s cheek as they posed for the cameras at Ira Khan’s wedding.

A report in The Free Press Journal stated that Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare will tie the knot in a traditional ceremony in Udaipur. Moreover, the couple has chosen the heritage property, Taj Aravali Resort, which has been booked from January 8 to January 10, 2024. The report added that they have booked 176 rooms for the Khan and Shikhare family, and a total of 250 guests are invited to the wedding.
