Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have been one of the most successful director-actor duos in the Hindi film industry. It was back in 2004, when Farah made her debut as a director with the film, Main Hoon Na. Shah Rukh Khan played the lead, while Sunil Shetty was the film's antagonist. Shah Rukh and Farah's partnership paid off as it became the second-highest-grossing film of 2004, behind Veer-Zaara. In the following years, they worked together in Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. While Om Shanti Om is one of Shah Rukh's biggest hits, Happy New Year is one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

In a recent conversation with Radio Nasha, Farah Khan opened up about her friendship with Shah Rukh Khan and shared some interesting deets about how it all started. The ace choreographer met Shah Rukh for the first time on the sets of their film, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. While Shah Rukh played the lead character, 'Sunil', Farah worked as a choreographer in the film. Recalling the old memories, Farah shared a lesser-known fact about Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa.

Farah Khan shared that the budget of Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa was too low, and they couldn't even afford an assistant. Opening up about the remuneration she and Shah Rukh Khan received for working in the film, Farah Khan revealed that she was paid more than the superstar. Farah Khan explained that she worked as a choreographer in the film and received Rs. 5,000 per song. There were six songs in total, which took her fee to Rs. 30,000. On the other side, Shah Rukh Khan was paid a sum of Rs. 25,000 to play the lead. She said:

"The budget was very low. Shah Rukh was paid Rs 25,000 for that movie. I was the highest paid person on that movie, let me tell you. I was paid Rs 5,000 per song, and there were six songs. Just because of that, I was paid Rs 30,000. We couldn't even afford an assistant."

Further, in the same conversation, Farah Khan talked in length about her first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa. Opening up about the same, Farah shared that when she saw Shah Rukh for the first time, he was all decked up in his character, 'Sunil'. The actor was practising trumpet while leaning on the wall, and it was when Kundan Shah introduced him to Farah Khan. She stated:

"I remember the shoot was on a road, and he was wearing that Sunil's jacket (SRK's character in the film) and a cap and practicing trumpet leaning on the wall and Kundan Shah introduced us."

Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan instantly hit off, and the former was asked to explain the reason behind it in her conversation with Radio Nasha. In response to the same, Farah shared that she and Shah Rukh had a lot of things in common. From having similar interests to reading the same books, their sense of humour was also even quite alike. She said:

"Sometimes, you instantly hit it off with somebody. You feel like you're friends from school. That's what it was like with Shah Rukh. We had the same interests, we'd read the same books, we had the same sense of humor."
