Ex-Beauty Pageant Winner Brynn Carnesecca Dies By Suicide At 21, Weeks Before Another Beauty Contest
Brynn Carnesecca died at the age of 21, just a month before another beauty contest. Her family and friends are in disbelief with her sudden passing.

Brynn Carnesecca died by suicide
Brynn's mother revealed in a statement to a news outlet that she took her own life. She was heartbroken at what happened but wanted people to remember her for the life she lived. On July 28, 2026, a vigil was held for her at American Fork Amphitheatre, where people wore yellow to honour her memory and wrote notes for her. Brynn's mother said:
"She took her own precious life, but she is more than what happened to her."

Michelle revealed that her daughter was an incredible writer and reader from a young age. She had her published work in the American Fork Citizen, Utah Valley Magazine, Good Things Utah and BYU’s Daily Universe, from where Brynn was set to graduate in 2028.
The Miss American Fork organization also shared a statement and captioned that there are no words to express the heartwrenching loss. The Miss American Fork organization put out a statement on its Instagram, remembering the young pageant queen. The statement further stated that she had a beautiful smile and that her kindness and passion are still remembered by many. The statement can be read as:
"There are no words to express the heartbreak of losing you, Brynn. Your beautiful smile, your kindness, your passion, and the way you supported everyone around you will never be forgotten. You left the biggest shoes to fill for every Miss American Fork who comes after you. I have always looked up to you, and I am so grateful that I got to know you, learn from you, and experience the love and encouragement you gave so freely."
Brynn's funeral expenses have been raised through fundraising via her cousin, Kassidy Jackman Murdoch. He wrote that Brynn had a bright light in her family and community. She was dedicated to sharing stories and spreading kindness. The cousin wrote:
"Brynn dedicated herself to sharing stories and spreading kindness. Her passion for helping others was evident in everything she did. Our family is heartbroken by Brynn’s unexpected passing. We want to honour her memory in a way that reflects her spirit and the love she gave to so many. Brynn touched countless lives through her work and her generosity, and we hope to celebrate her legacy with a meaningful memorial."

As per Brynn's Instagram bio, she was all set to compete in the Miss Provo Pageant on August 22, 2026, but she died by suicide just a month before the competition. She won the title of Miss Congeniality in 2025's Miss America Utah pageant. Apart from her interest in being the beauty queen, she was also a pianist and an aspiring journalist.
Her mother revealed that her daughter had interned during the summer of 2025 at local news outlet KSL. Brynn's last Instagram post was a carousel of her best moments from Summer 2026. Along with it, she penned a note stating summer is her favourite season.
