Esha Deol Remembers Step-Mother, Prakash Kaur And Half-Siblings In Tribute Video For Dharmendra
Esha Deol shared an emotional tribute video, which is a compilation of Dharmendra's glorious life and people who always mattered to him, and it features his first wife and children.
Late legendary actor, Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, and children chose privacy during the mourning phase. But it raised speculations that Hema Malini and her daughters were kept away from the late actor's last rites and prayer meet. However, Esha Deol broke all the speculations by remembering and honouring Dharmendra's first family in her tribute video made by Anil Sharma Productions.

After hosting a prayer meet for Dharmendra in Delhi, Esha Deol posted a tribute video for Dharmendra. The video started by honouring the kind of work he did and the way his presence felt like magic on the silver screen. It was a remembrance of his extraordinary cinematic life. However, the most touching part of the video was the moment it silently featured Dharmendra's most important people.
The clip featured an old photo of Dharmendra with his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and children, including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta Deol, and Ajeeta Deol. Followed by some more personal photos, including her childhood family picture with Dharmendra. She also shared photos of Dharmendra with his sons and grandsons. All and all, by sharing such a tribute which had Dharmendra's first wife, it proves that the Deols will always honour the line 'Apne toh apne hote hai'.
The video was concluded by Dharmendra's last appearance, and his shayari as voiceover, which talks about death being the ultimate truth. He said:
"Jindagi bilkul in barf ki resho ki tarah hi toh hai, pal bher ke liye teharti hai aur pighal jaati hai. Par kambhakt jitni der rehti hai badi khubsurat lagti hai magar, ise her jana hi toh hai."
Hema Malini talked about Dharmendra's last days
Recently, Hema Malini talked to Hamad Al Reyami, and talked about Dharmendra's last days, which were extremely cruel for him. She stated that his loved ones couldn't bear to see him like that. Hema Malini revealed that Dharmendra never wanted to be seen as weak or sick throughout his life. He would hide his pain even from the closest people. She also talked about the family's deicison of not wanting a state-level funeral for him. She said:

"But what happened was mercy... Because Hamad you couldn’t bear to see him like that. His final days were cruel... Hurtful... And even we can barely bear to see it like that."
On December 11, 2025, Hema Malini hosted a prayer meet with a gathering held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Janpath. The event was attended by their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Her close friends, colleagues, and admirers came to pay their respects.
Hema Malini arrived at the event and attended to the guests for the midday ceremony. She kept her focus on praying for the departed soul and remembering and honouring Dharmendra's cinematic legacy. The function started at 4 p.m., and tributes were poured in for Dharmendra. The ceremony was also attended by Esha Deol's ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani.
