Hema Malini And Esha Deol Host Separate Prayer Meet For Dharmendra, They Look Heartbroken

Dharmendra's passing has left a void in the hearts of people who were touched by his love. However, his family has suffered the most. After Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, and her sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, hosted a prayer meet, which wasn't attended by the late veteran's second wife, Hema Malini, she led a prayer meet in Delhi to honour him as his widow.

Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. His first family hosted a prayer meet and called it a 'Celebration of life'. However, Hema Malini and her daughters remained absent from it. On December 11, 2025, Hema Malini hosted a prayer meet with a gathering held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre on Janpath. The event was attended by their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Her close friends, colleagues, and admirers came to pay their respects. 

Hema Malini arrived at the event and attended to the guests for the midday ceremony. She kept her focus on praying for the departed soul and remembering and honouring Dharmendra's cinematic legacy. The function started at 4 p.m., and tributes were poured in for Dharmendra. The ceremony was also attended by Esha Deol's ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani.

Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, and her children, Sunny, Bobby, Ajeeta, and Vijeeta, held a prayer meet for the late actor on November 27, 2025, in Mumbai. It was attended by celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, and Sidharth Malhotra. 

However, Hema Malini and her family remained missing. On the same day, the veteran actress organised a puja for him. Celebrities such as Mahima Chaudhry and Sunita Ahuja attended it. It is worth mentioning that Hema Malini and her daughters, Esha and Ahana were missing from Dharmendra's asthi visarjan.

Hema Malini's goodbye note for Dharmendra 

Taking to her X account, Hema Malini penned an emotional post and revealed how Dharmendra was everything to her. She called him a loving husband and adoring father of their two daughters, Esha and Ahaana. For Hema Malini, Dharmendra was not just a husband, but a friend, philosopher, guide, poet, and her go-to person. He has been with her in all ups and downs of life. She wrote:

"He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need - in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad. He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them."

Hema Malini further mentioned that it is an indescribable loss, and the vacuum created is something that is going to last with her for the rest of her life. She stated that after years of being together, she is left with just memories. She concluded her note by mentioning:

"As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends. His enduring fame and achievements in the film industry will last forever. My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…"
