After Kalki Koechlin and Guy Hershberg, Dhruv Bhandari and Shruti Merchant, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nirali Mehta, Deeya Chopra Mehta and Ritchie Mehta, and Smriti Khanna and Gautam Gupta, Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul enter the list of newbie parents. It was in April 2020, when Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul had announced their pregnancy and had revealed that in June 2020, they will welcome a junior 'Permanent Roommate' in their lives. Sumeet had captioned the announcement pictures as “Spending all that time at home, can be fruitful in many ways. In my case it’s life altering. #cooljr is on it’s way. #newroommate.” Ekta had posted a picture of Sumeet kissing her on her cheeks as they both held her baby bump. She had captioned her post as “Proudly announcing our new project together. Introducing Jr. KaulVyas (soon) Created, Directed and Produced by US.... @sumeetvyas and I.”
On June 3, 2020, Ekta Kaul had posted an IG story which was a glimpse of how their soon-to-arrive baby's papa and bua, Sumeet Vyas and Shruti Vyas were preparing for the little one's arrival. Finally, the most-awaited day for the Kaul and Vyas families has arrived as Sumeet and Ekta have welcomed their first baby. Sumeet and Ekta embraced parenthood on June 4, 2020, with the arrival of a little baby boy. The elated daddy, Sumeet announced the arrival of his little one on social media and revealed his name. Sumeet and Ekta have named their baby boy, Ved.
Sumeet Vyas has proved to be the best husband as he left no stone unturned to make his wife, Ekta Kaul feel comfortable and pampered during her pregnancy. Sumeet along with the Kaul family had planned a virtual godh bharai ceremony for his wife, Ekta and giving a glimpse of the same, the then-to-be mommy had written, "And then the god bharai happened on a video call. When I gave up the hope to have one, they coordinated secretly and video called me. Blessed to have Kaul parivar and MY friends around me #chotikhushiyan don't miss Viru clapping when I told him I am cutting a cake." The lockdown due to the pandemic has given us a chance to think and introspect things even ourself that we’d been ignoring for so long. A few weeks back, Ekta Kaul had posted a monochrome picture of herself, holding her baby bump. Dressed in a black spaghetti top and black leggings, Ekta had written a Hindi caption, “Kabhi kabhi lagta hai bachhe ke saath saath main vichaaro se bhi garbhvati hoon. Farq itna hai ki mera dimaag, mere garbhashya ki tarah aakaar me nahi badh raha. Balki us choti si jagah mein, badh rahe hai mere vichaar aur meri bhaavanayein! In an exclusive interview with BollywoodShaadis.com, Ekta Kaul had revealed how Sumeet Vyas had reacted when she had told him about the pregnancy. Ekta had reminisced, “He was sleeping and I called him at 6 in the morning. And he said give me 10 mins since he couldn’t register anything in his sleep. And then called back on sometime. And we had our moment.”
Sometime back, Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul’s dear friend, Malini Kapoor had posted an array of pictures with the then-soon-to-be parents. Praising Sumeet for being a hands-on husband, Malini had captioned the pictures as "Aur bas samjho waqt aa hi gaya. To welcome our new member. In a few days, baby would be all set to come out and rule our worlds. I have to say that you guys handled your pregnancy so beautifully and courageously. I'm sure it wasn't easy in these testing times... The time when a woman wants the maximum pampering and entertainment.. You were stuck at home my baby @ektakaul11 the time when a couple enjoys their last days of freedom.. U guys were busy figuring out.. Ye ho kya raha hai... ismein ek achhhi baat ye hui ki @sumeetvyas You could give her so much of your time... And you were around... Just the 2 of u all...
