Dwayne Wade's Son, Zaire Wade Arrested On Felony Domestic Violence, And Criminal Threats Charges

After getting into professional Basketball, Zaire Wade, the eldest son of NBA Hall of Famer, Dwayne Wade, has reportedly been taken into custody in California. He was charged with domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment. In fact, the 24-year-old professional basketball player was booked by the Burbank Police Department on allegations. Meanwhile, an emergency protective order has been issued, and authorities continue to investigate the case. 

Zaire Wade is booked on multiple felony charges 

According to multiple news reports, Zaire Wade was taken into custody on June 21, 2026, after the Burbank Police reported an alleged disturbance at a residence around 5:30 a.m. The report also mentioned that officers were sent after they received a call, which claimed a woman was screaming inside the home. Eventually, when officers reached the scene, they found Zaire with a woman who had cuts and lacerations on her face and body. Despite the reported injuries, she was not taken to a hospital. 

Meanwhile, authorities have booked Zaire Wade on three charges: felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment. Later, he was released after a USD 50,000 bond. At the same time, an emergency protective order was also issued after the incident. In turn, the case will now be reviewed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. It will determine whether formal charges will be filed. Until now, Zaire or his family has not publicly commented on the allegations.

Zaire Wade is the eldest child of former NBA star, Dwayne Wade and his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. He went to Sierra Canyon School in California, where he played with Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar, LeBron James. Although he got multiple college scholarship offers, he decided to skip college and pursue a professional basketball career.

In turn, he was selected by the Salt Lake City Stars in the 2021 NBA G League Draft. Later, he continued to play overseas for teams in South Africa and Macau. Dwyane Wade and Siohvaughn Funches were high school sweethearts who got married in 2002. But their relationship began to suffer when Dwayne's NBA career took off. Then, they got divorced in 2013. Dwyane, in his documentary, D.Wade: Life Unexpected, mentioned that after getting married at a young age, they eventually struggled with communication and grew apart. In fact, things went public after both made serious allegations. Siohvaughn accused Dwyane of infidelity, financial misconduct and domestic violence, which he denied. In turn, he filed a defamation lawsuit and raised concerns about her mental health. After a long legal battle, Dwayne got custody of their kids, Zaire and Zaya.
