Did Dua Lipa First Saw Her Husband, Callum Turner, While Working As A Waitress? She Told, 'We Had..'

After dating for a long time, Dua Lipa has said "I do" and entered a new chapter of her relationship with Callum Turner. The couple quickly tied the knot in London without much fanfare. While their fans are delighted over their wedding, they are also discussing the couple's unique love story. The biggest highlight of their journey has been the series of coincidences that occurred between Dua and Callum before they even started dating. Some may call it meaningless, but it is safe to say the duo was meant to find each other. 

Did Dua Lipa first meet Callum Turner when she was working as a waitress? 

Dua Lipa once sat down for a conversation with British Vogue and shared that her romance with Callum was filled with what she calls "Sliding Doors" moments. They had multiple chance encounters and near-misses. One of those moments dates to 2014, when the singer was working as a hostess and waitress at La Bodega Negra. It is a popular restaurant in London's Soho district. Several years later, after meeting Callum, they realized that he had been outside that restaurant during those days. In her words:

"There's a lot of Sliding Doors moments. We had so many friends in common."

In fact, they have a 2014 photograph reportedly showing the actor standing outside the venue when Dua was still working there. But, despite being in the same place at the same time, they never met. She explained that it was one of the moments where their paths almost crossed. Another incident occurred in 2020, when they attended the same pre-lockdown party. Dua mentioned that she and Callum later realized that they had pictures taken at the event with the same person appearing in the background. But again, they did not speak to one another that night. 

Eventually, they met several years later at London's River Cafe, where Dua was dining with her father. According to the singer, they were briefly introduced by a mutual contact. But things did not go beyond it. However, later they unexpectedly met again in Los Angeles, where Dua saw Callum walk into the restaurant and immediately recognized him as the "hot guy from The River Cafe." Then Callum realized she was reading Trust by Hernan Diaz, and he was reading the same book too. In fact, they reached the same chapter at the same time, and gradually the literary conversions paved the way for their love story.

Dua Lipa got married to Callum Turner in a low-key civil ceremony

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner recently surprised their fans by making their bond permanent. They got married in a private civil ceremony in London. According to reports, the wedding took place at the historic Old Marylebone Town Hall. It was attended by only a small group of friends and family members. It reflected the couple's desire for privacy. Dua reportedly wore a custom ivory Schiaparelli ensemble while Callum chose a classic navy suit. 

In turn, guests were clicked celebrating the newlyweds outside the venue before the couple left on a traditional London Taxi. However, despite their private wedding ceremony in London, the celebrations have not yet ended. Several news outlets have reported that the couple is planning a larger celebration in Sicily towards the end of the year, with more friends and family from around the world.
