Mike Vrabel Says 'Moved On', As Dianna Russini Reacts To The Investigation Into Their Alleged Affair

Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel grabbed attention earlier this year, soon after Page Six released some of their photos from an Arizona hotel. In the photos, Mike and Dianna were seen being cosy, which prompted speculation about an alleged affair between the duo. Soon, both Mike and Dianna came forward and denied the claims since their photos ended up sparking a controversy, given that they were both married to their respective partners.

While Mike and Dianna denied the claims, several more photos from earlier times also hit the headlines, including one of them kissing passionately at a New York City bar. While Mike was married at the time, Dianna was engaged to her now-husband. Speaking of the effect of this controversy on their respective careers, Mike continued to face several tough questions, while Dianna resigned from her position at The Athletic by April 2026. Amid the controversy, Dianna Russini's previous company launched an investigation, which ended in September 2026.

On September 3, 2026, Mike Semel, the editorial director of The Athletic, released a statement stating that the multi-month investigation into Dianna and Mike's alleged relationship found it to be a 'violation'. According to the statement, it was stated that the alleged connection between the two 'was a violation of newsroom standards'. As per the same statement, it was clearly a 'breach' and should have been disclosed.

Mike Semel wrote in the statement that it couldn't be found that Dianna used her platform to help Mike during her time at The Athletic, while she did actually write 'glowingly of him (Vrabel), which, in hindsight, is 'awkward or even uncomfortable'. Dianna Russini finally came forward and broke her silence, following the release. Speaking to The Athletic, Dianna revealed that she stands by her professionalism. To quote Dianna:

"I stand by any and all reporting I’ve ever done in my career."

Mike Vrabel was also questioned in the new investigation surrounding his and Dianna Russini's alleged affair. During a press conference, Mike was asked about The Athletic's multi-month investigation. To this, the Patriots coach said that he has moved on and his focus is currently on his team and on being better.

Notably, following the controversy, Mike Vrabel remained focused on becoming a better version and opted for counselling. As it seems, he is in no mood to entertain the ghost of the past, as he has strictly denied making any comment on the recent development regarding the past controversy surrounding his personal life involving Dianna Russini. Mike could be quoted as saying:

“No, I don’t have any reaction to that. We’re moved on and focused on Seattle and focused on the Patriots and focused on getting better this week.”

Mike and Dianna are both married to their respective partners. Dianna is married to Kevin Goldschmidt, and they have two kids. On the other hand, Mike is married to Jen Vrabel, and they are also parents to two kids. Speaking of the current status of their respective personal lives, there are no reports about the same.

Earlier, it was stated that Mike and Jen were working on their relationship. Speaking of Dianna, she, in an interview following the controversy, allegedly revealed that she had no plans to return to her past career, as it completely ruined her life and career.
