Akshaye Khanna is currently making headlines for his viral dance on the popular track, Fa9la. For the unversed, the song was composed by Flipperachi, the Bahraini rapper. The spontaneous dance moves of Akshaye have left his fans in a frenzy. He played the role of 'Rehman Dakait' in the spy-action thriller, Dhurandhar. Now, a shocking fact surrounding Akshaye Khanna’s character has been revealed by his co-star, Naveen Kaushik. Naveen portrayed the role of 'Donga'.
For the uninitiated, Saumya Tandon played the role of 'Ulfat', 'Rehman Dakait's' wife. However, it was Naveen Kaushik who revealed a shocking BTS moment from the Dhurandhar set. In a candid conversation with Filmy Gyan, Naveen shared that Akshaye Khanna, who portrayed the role of 'Rehman', was slapped seven times by his on-screen wife, Saumya.

There is an emotionally charged scene at the beginning of the film, Dhurandhar, where Saumya, as 'Ulfat', is showing her anger to 'Rehman' after the demise of their eldest son. As soon as she receives the heartbreaking news of her son’s death, 'Ulfat' rushes to the hospital and slaps her husband, 'Rehman', on his cheeks. However, Naveen, who played 'Donga', a member of 'Rehman Dakait's' gang, revealed to Filmy Gyan, that the actor was not slapped once but was slapped seven times. He was quoted as saying:
"This scene was retaken seven times."

In the same conversation, Naveen explained why Saumya had to slap actor, Akshaye Khanna seven times. For those unaware, the scene in which 'Ulfat' slapped her husband, 'Rehman', they lost their eldest son in a gang war at a wedding. 'Ulfat' vented her anger on 'Rehman' as the latter couldn’t save his son. Thus, looking at the circumstances, the scene had to be emotionally charged. Naveen shared that Akshaye wanted to make the scene look stronger. He mentioned that both Akshaye and director, Aditya Dhar, explained to Saumya that she should get into the character and forget everything else. Naveen was quoted as saying:
"Akshaye sir kept taking one retake after another to make the scene stronger. He was slapped so many times but didn't hesitate even once. Akshaye sir and Aditya sir were explaining to Saumya that she should get into the character and not think that there is a star in front of her."

Akshaye Khanna is one of the most prominent actors of Hindi cinema. He is widely known for his versatility. In 1997, he made his acting debut with the romantic film, Himalay Putra. His 1997 film, Border, became a blockbuster hit. For the 1997 war drama, Akshaye bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film, Dil Chahta Hai. In 2025, he received wider acclaim with his roles in films like Chhaava and Dhurandhar. Coming to his personal life, the 50-year-old actor is not married.
