Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has already made it to the headlines with its multi-starrer cast and their impeccable acting chops. With the power-packed performance of talented actors like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi, the movie recently brought a lot of excitement among the fans. Soon after the movie hit the silver screens, the versatile actors, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi created a buzz on the internet as the duo shared a passionate liplock moment in one of the scenes of the recently released film. Fans started calling this passionate moment unexpected. However, recently in a new interview, Dharmendra opened up about the same.
In an interview with News18, Dharmendra opened up about his kissing scene with his co-star, Shabana Azmi. The veteran actor shared that he has been hearing that people got surprised about the kissing scene between him and Shabana. Dharmendra shared that he thinks it had created an impact on the audience because they were not expecting it. The talented artist shared that the last time he did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali, and people appreciated it. Dharmendra mentioned:
"I am hearing that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene, and at the same time they have even applauded it. I think people weren’t expecting it and it came very suddenly which is why it created an impact. The last time I did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali and at that time too people had appreciated it."

In the same interview, Dharmendra shared that when Karan Johar narrated the scene to him, he understood that it was what the movie required, and it wasn't forcefully put in. He also stated that romance has no age, and two characters will show their love for each other by kissing. Dharmendra also mentioned that he and Shabana didn't feel awkward at all, as it was an aesthetic shot. Elaborating more on the same, Dharmendra stated:
"When Karan narrated the scene to us, I did not get excited (laughs). We understood it and I realised that it was something that the film required and wasn’t forcefully put in and I said I will do it. Also, I believe there is no age for romance. Age is just a number and two people irrespective of age will show their love for each other by kissing. Shabana and I both did not feel any kind of awkwardness while doing it as it was very aesthetically shot."
Further, in the interview, Dharmendra talked about his experience working in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. For the unversed, it was Dharmendra's first collaboration with Karan Johar. Now, heaping praise on the director, Dharmendra shared that the former is a good director, and he thoroughly enjoyed working in the film. He also heaped praise on the other actors from the film. Dharmendra said Ranveer is a terrific actor, while Alia is such a natural actor. The veteran actor also heaped praises on Shabana and Jaya and shared that he always referred to the latter as his Guddi.
