Soon after the movie lovers watched the film, they got mesmerised by the acting of the entire cast, especially Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. They even reacted to their kissing scenes and flooded Twitter with their surprised reactions. While one of the Twitter users wrote, "Dharmendra and shabana ji liplock was something no one expected and was shocked," another one commented, "So Ranveer meets Alia to help his grandfather Dharmendra reunite with his ex flame Shabana Azmi and the formerly paralysed Dharmendra stands on his foot and both him and Shabana share a kiss." A few hours ago, Dharmendra took to his Instagram handle and dropped an adorable picture with his co-star, Shabana Azmi. In the picture, the veteran actors can be seen posing happily together. While Shabana looked beautiful in a blue-coloured saree, Dharmendra looked handsome in a black jacket. Sharing the picture, he penned a small note and asked his fans whether they liked their performance in the film or not. His note can be read as:
"Friends, R and R ki prem kahani please see the film...and tell me...How is your Dharma's performance...in a his brief role."

Earlier, in an interview with Filmy Shilmy, Shabana had opened up about romancing Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that the romance between the duo is simply a glimpse into Hindi films. Elaborating more on it, she had said:
"Karan Johar is a dedicated Hindi film fan. Definitely, the whole idea of romance between me and Dharmendra’s character, is based on little snippets from Hindi films…so you will feast on what he’s got there. I can’t reveal too much, but it is certainly there."
