Dhanush Stops Kneeling Fan At Kara Event From Touching His Feet, Netizens Say, 'Do Not Worship...'

Pan-India actor, Dhanush recently visited Coimbator, to promote his upcoming film, Kara, on April 26, 2026. Owing to his popularity and the excitement surrounding the film, fans turned up in large numbers. Many even had to line up from the airport to the event for one glimpse of the actor. However, what captured everyone's attention was the moment a fan tried to touch Dhanush's feet.

A Telugu pre-release event for the film, Kara, was recently held at Coimbatore. During the event, a female fan approached Dhanush when he was exiting the stage. She then proceeded to get down on her knees in front of Dhanush to show her admiration for the actor and also tried to touch his feet. Although Dhanush appeared embarrassed at first, he handled the situation with calm and humility and immediately asked her to get back up on her feet. He then went on to pose for a picture with the female fan after chatting with her for a bit. 

With the clip of this moment doing the rounds on the internet, many have begun sharing their opinion. While the reactions were mixed, most of the users pointed out the growing concern of celebrity worship these days. A user who saw the video wrote, “Do not worship celebrities, no matter how popular or powerful they are.” Another wrote, “Why do people start worshipping actors?” A third commented, “Why should actors be treated like Gods?” A fourth comment read, “When this actor become a god?” 

Dhanush gives a message to his young fans at the Kara event

Adding a nostalgic touch to the event, Dhanush was presented with a bike number plate which, as you might have already guessed, was a reference to his film, Polladhavan. Upon receiving the plate, the actor smiled and held it up. Reflecting on the importance of it in his career, he said that it was definitely a turning point for him. 

Following this, Dhanush, addressing the audience, launched into a motivational speech. He encouraged his young fans to always believe in themselves and focus on their goals. Dhanush even referred to a line in the Bhagavad Gita and spoke about the power of manifestation and self-belief. To quote him:

"Ennam Pol Vazhkai, it is in the Bhagavad Gita, which means: 'What you think, you become'. We shouldn't be having any doubts about success; we should truly manifest it ourselves. All could have laughed around 2002-2003 if I had told them I would get a National Award. But I strongly manifested that I will win a National Award one day. The time arrived."

About Kara and Dhanush's role in the film

In Kara, viewers will see Dhanush stepping into the role of a dacoit. He will execute heists in broad daylight, and the plot of the film will centre around the aftermath of his actions. As of now, Kara's trailer has garnered wide attention and earned positive reactions on social media. Alongside Dhanush, actors, Mamitha Baju and Suraj Venjaramoodu play key roles in the film. 

The movie is directed by Vignesh Raja under the banner of Vels Film International. The music in the film is reportedly composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Cinematography has been done by Theni Eswar and editing by Srijith Saramg. After a long wait, Kara will finally hit theatres at the end of this month, on April 30, 2026.
