Season 13 is said to be a fastrack season. Bigg Boss season 13 began with host Salman Khan getting calls from Bollywood celebrities including Farah Khan, Karan Johar, Arbaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez asking questions about the show. He began the show with his dance performance on the hit track, Slow Motion from the movie, Bharat. This time all the female contestants were given bands to identify their best friends.
Among the many celebrities introduced, it was TV actress, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, whose entry in the show had shocked the audience. Devoleena, who was introduced as the sansakari bahu of the television, turned out quite opposite and entered in a hot avatar, dancing to the tunes of Aashiq Banaya Apne. During an interaction with Salman Khan, Devoleena’s mother revealed she wants her daughter to find love inside the house but the actress said otherwise. She said that she is going inside the house single and will remain single only.
Devoleena has always been vocal about the kind of guy she is looking for marriage. The beautiful Gopi bahu had revealed that her partner should be a blend of intelligence and good looks. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Devoleena had revealed, “I would love to get married soon, but am looking for someone who is balanced. I am not looking for a workaholic or a Romeo. Life is always about balancing career and personal life.”
Devoleena is quite opposite to her on-screen character. We have seen Devoleena as a lehenga clad bahu in her serials but in reality, she states that she is quite the opposite of her on-screen image. Quoting the same, she had shared, “The Devoleena you see on social media is the real me. It’s my personal zone. I was never a ghunghat wali bahu in real life. Tomorrow, even if I accept a role that’s similar to Gopi, I would still wear gowns at a public event. I wonder why people make such a big issue of my modern avatar on social media.”
Sometime back, Devoleena had created a lot of buzz when she had broken her bahu image and had stormed the internet by sharing some really hot pictures on her Instagram handle. In an interview with Zoomtv.com, the actress had revealed that she desperately wanted to shed her on-screen image. Speaking about the same, she had said, “It is India's biggest reality show and it is challenging, of course. If image makeover was my plan, I would have done it a long time back. It will also definitely help me get over that image. But I don't want to get over that image completely because I am here only because of that bahu image. I feel that the love and support I get from my family, friends, I don't want to let them down. Devoleena has often been compared to Hina Khan since both of them are considered to be the famous bahus of television. Speaking about the chances of a possible comparison to Hina Khan inside the Bigg Boss house, she had said, “I don't want to follow anyone. I want to have my own journey. I'll put all the effort on my own and everyone has their own style. I'm sure people will like me. Comparisons will happen everywhere. I don't know what will happen outside but I just want to perform well inside the house. I have to keep my patience to handle everything and I have to take my stand for whatever I don't like.”
Devoleena was first noticed when she had auditioned for the dance reality show, Dance India Dance 2. She got immense popularity with her portrayal as Gopi bahu in Star Plus’ serial, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. The bubbly actress, who is a part of the hit reality show Bigg Boss season 13, was introduced by ex-Bigg Boss contestants, Kamya Punjabi and Vikas Gupta in a promotional teaser.
