Popular actress, Devoleena Bhattacharjee entered into a new phase of her life after tying the knot with the love of her life, Shanwaz Shaikh on December 14, 2022. Their wedding was extremely secretive and intimate amidst the presence of only 15 close friends and family. Since then, she has been seen enjoying her life to its fullest and sharing mesmerising glimpses from the same. And just a few hours ago, she shared her first post-wedding look, which is simply unmissable.
On December 22, 2022, Devoleena took to her IG handle and shared stunning glimpses from her first look post-wedding. She was seen wearing a mauve-hued saree paired with Addigai jewellery which included a uniquely carved petals necklace and matching earrings. Devoleena teamed her look with glowy makeup, which included blushed cheeks, winged eyes, glittery eyeshadow, glossy lips and a small stone bindi. Moreover, she opted for a middle-parted messy bun adorned with roses.
Earlier, in a candid conversation with the ETimes, Devoleena had opened up about the real reason behind her hush-hush wedding ceremony with Shanwaz. She revealed that since their marriage was sudden, the couple planned to keep it under wraps until their grand reception. However, she couldn't stop herself from sharing stunning moments of her wedding and updating her fans. However, she also added about her hubby's awkwardness in public and had said:
“I wanted it that way. The decision to get married was sudden. We had a court marriage, which was followed by a get-together at a resort in Lonavala in the evening. His family hosted a reception for us a day later. We decided to keep it a secret and talk about it only before our reception, which we are planning on hosting for our industry friends next month. Par waisa hua nahi, as I couldn’t stop myself from posting our pictures. It was such a beautiful moment. But Shonu (as she fondly calls Shanawaz) feels awkward about receiving attention and wanted to keep our wedding private.”

Further, Devoleena had talked about the moment, when she had proposed to the man of her dreams, Shanwaz. She revealed that both at the time of starting their dating period and also for marriage, it was she who had taken the initiative to pop the million-dollar question. In her words:
“He is a fitness trainer. However, he runs a cable and internet business. We met at a gym around four years ago and dated for three years before we tied the knot. We started hanging out and I was soon drawn towards him. I was the one who proposed to him then, and even now when we decided to get married, I initiated it (laughs!). We didn’t realise it when we fell in love with each other. I wasn’t doing too well emotionally those days. I was suffering from a back injury, and anxiety and had almost slipped into depression. My family wasn’t here with me and he took care of me. He was a god send for me. He knows how to control my aggression and anger and calm me down. He is my rock.”
