On April 5, 2019, Deeya Chopra Mehta and her London based businessman husband, Ritchie Mehta had embraced the most beautiful phase of their lives i.e. parenthood for the first time. Deeya and Ritchie had welcomed a baby boy and since then, their lives have been revolving around their little one. In December 2019, Deeya had announced her second pregnancy with a picture of her sonography.
A while back, Deeya Chopra Mehta announced the arrival of her baby girl on her Instagram account. Sharing a picture of pink background with a pram, baby shoes and a teddy on the side, Deeya announced, “Evaan is delighted to announce the safe arrival of his darling sister Sophia Mehta on the 6th of April 2020 in New Delhi! Proud parents Deeya & Ritchie Mehta, Ecstatic grandparents, Manju & Ravi Chopra, Eileen & Neville Mehta. A day before Deeya Chopra Mehta and Ritchie Mehta’s baby girl, Sophia Mehta was born, her brother, Evaan Mehta had turned 1. To mark the big milestone of her baby boy, Deeya had posted a family picture and had captioned it, “Happy first Birthday Son! I still get goosebumps every time i call you “son”. You have brought so much joy into our lives and though your first birthday isnt spent quite like i had imagined it to be all that really matters is that we are together and we are happy !! To announce her second pregnancy, Deeya Chopra Mehta had posted a collage of four pictures, which had the childhood photos of her and her husband tagged as ‘baby daddy’ and ‘baby mummy’. The third one had a picture of her son, Evaan Mehta tagged as ‘baby baby’ and the fourth one had a sonography picture of her second baby tagged as ‘baby in tummy’. Sharing the first-ever picture of her baby boy, Evaan Mehta when he had turned 40-day-old, Deeya Chopra Mehta had penned down how her 40 days went by. Deeya had written, ““40 days is all it’s been for me, 40 days with my new family. 40 days since I took my first breath, 40 days since my parents had any rest. 40 days may not seem long to you, but I gotta tell ya in 40 days how I grew. I’m a big boy now, I shout with glee, until my shout reminds mummy my nappy is full of pee. To mark the completion of the 100 days of Evaan Mehta, Deeya Chopra Mehta had posted pictures from outside The Portland Hospital for Women and Children. She had penned down a long caption, explaining the pictures she had posted and the memories related to them. She had written, “Little man is a 100 days old now!! Feels like the right time for a throwback to see how far we've come! This was us just moments before he was born.. happy, excited, nervous and completely unaware of how life was about to change! Swipe right and see what we looked like just a few days later when we were leaving for home with him! Lol! It’s been an amazing time... discovering him… discovering myself. Babies really do make you feel alive! A little bit of our learning since then... 1. You are not in control! Make lists, write schedules, birth plans and times and boom in just a moment you are overtaken by this force way greater than you so - Surrender! That’s the only option really 2.
