2nd Time Mom-To-Be Deepika Padukone Said She Wanted More Than 2 Kids, 'Want To Have Lot Of Children'

Ranveer Singh has been gearing up in his life from every corner. He most recently delivered the biggest hits of his career, Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. And now, most unexpectedly, the actor, along with his loving wife, Deepika Padukone announced that they are all set to be parents for the second time.

Yes! On April 19, 2026, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone announced that a tiny human is going to join them, promoting their daughter Dua to an elder sister and them as second-time parents. Deepika, the second-time mom-to-be, once wished to have three children of her own. Amid the B-town being in awe of the family, let's have a look back at the time, when Deepika expressed her wish to have more than two kids.

When Deepika Padukone said that she wanted three kids of her own

Speaking to Rajeev Masand back in 2013, Deepika Padukone spoke about her love for kids. The gorgeous actress said that if she weren't an actress, she didn't know what she would possibly be doing, but she might be surrounded by several kids. She adorably mentioned that she would have three kids scuttling about. She said that she would probably be working more and taking her kids to the shoots. She expressed her wish to have a happy family and do whatever she was doing. Deepika could be quoted as saying:

"If I was not an actor I don’t know what I would have been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids, scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots. Have a happy family. And at the same time, still doing what I am doing."

In another event, Deepika Padukone expressed her wish to have a family. The gorgeous actress said that this is what she does  as she knows the importance of a family, which completes her as a person. The actress further added that she wanted to have a lot of kids, and she loves them, and often looks at their photos. Deepika and Ranveer got married in 2018, and it was in 2024 that she welcomed her first child with Ranveer Singh. Speaking about her wish to have a lot of kids, Ranveer Singh said:

"That’s what I want to do. I know the importance of family. It really completes me as a person. I want to have a lot of children. I look at baby pictures and I am like ‘I love kids’."

Deepika Padukone announced her second pregnancy

In the most unexpected way possible, Deepika Padukone took to her social media and shared an adorable post to announce her second pregnancy. In the post, her daughter, Dua, was seen holding her pregnancy kit close, which was reflecting two lines, i.e., a positive result. Deepika captioned the post with an evil eye emoticon. No sooner did Deepika share the photo than social media was filled with congratulatory messages.

The gorgeous actress has been making headlines since last year with the buzz about her demand for an 8-hour-long work shift, which ousted her from two of the big projects, like Spirit and Kalki 2. Deepika will be next seen in the movie, King, featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking of Ranveer, he has been hitting the headlines with his outstanding movie, Dhurandhar, for a long time. He collaborated with Aditya Dhar for this movie, and the rest is history.
