On March 13, 2019, Deepika hit another milestone when she unveiled her magnificent wax figure at Madame Tussauds museum in London. The diva arrived at the venue with her family, husband, Ranveer Singh and her in-laws. The unveiling was streamed live on Instagram handle for her millions of fans. During the Insta live, Ranveer was heard playfully asking if he could take the statue home with him. Take a look at the stills from the live event below:
Last year in July, Deepika had announced that she would be getting a wax statue, she had talked about the same in a video, and had said, “It’s fun, exciting and in a way I feel a lot of gratitude because you know when you give your fans a little more than just the movies, then it’s really, really special. She had also revealed a fun fact that she had only visited the museum once, and was thrilled when she got a call to have her own statute exhibited there. She had shared, “The only time I visited Madame Tussauds was in London when I was very little with my parents. That memory has sort of stayed with me, obviously. And then to receive a letter and now to be a part of that, and to actually experience what goes into making these wax figures. I think Madame Tussauds is so iconic in so many ways so it’s really special.”
For those who don’t know, currently, Deepika is in a happy zone as she got married to the love of her life Ranveer Singh on November 14, 2018. The actress had opened up about Ranveer and the relationship she shared with him in a post-marriage interview with Pinkvilla. She had stated, “Over a period of time because it's the small things that he did and the little things that he said which made me believe and feel more and more that he's the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. The foundation of our relationship is just solid friendship and for any successful relationship, that's very essential. It started off on that note right from the beginning and over the years that we have dated, it only became stronger and stronger. She had further added, “Although my friends feel.. soon after we started dating, I remember he had dengue and he was unwell and I was shooting for Finding Fanny at that time. I would keep travelling back and forth. His family and my friends sort of felt at that point, this was headed towards being together for life. But, I don't think I have that one definite moment. Over a period of time, it just felt like the right thing.”
In another interview, the Padmaavat actress had talked about the changes that marriage brought in her, and had revealed, “I’m a lot more grounded. I feel secure, I feel protected. When you’re in a relationship, there are still a lot of nerves, you’re still unsure, no matter how long you’ve been dating. I guess, the terms boyfriend and girlfriend sound frivolous. Somewhere, it doesn’t carry that weightage as marriage does.
