As per a report in Mid-Day, Aamir Khan plans to celebrate his 54th birthday at his Bandra home with media personnel. And as an annual ritual, Aamir has cut his birthday cake with the media and now will head to North Ireland to attend the Belfast Film Festival. Pictures of Aamir’s birthday celebration with media went viral on the internet and the birthday boy was accompanied by his wife, Kiran Rao too. After cutting the cake, Aamir and Kiran shared a romantic ‘kiss of love’ moment and he fed his wife with a piece of cake. Here are the pictures:
As required, Aamir Khan has been tight-lipped and vocal about his personal life and his relationships. From writing a love letter with blood to getting rejected by his first love and then finally marrying her only to be separated after 16 years, multiple linkup rumours with co-stars and finally getting married to his second dig in love, Aamir Khan’s love life is no less than a Bollywood film! In an interview with a Chinese media portal, Aamir talked about how he fell in love with Kiran, after divorcing his first wife, Reena Dutta.
Reminiscing about the time when he first met Kiran Rao and how love grew between the two, Aamir Khan had said, "I met Kiran when I was doing Lagaan. She was one of the ADs (assistant directors) on that but at that time, we didn’t have any relationship, we were not even great friends. She was one of the people on the unit. It was after my separation and divorce after some time that I met her again."
Aamir Khan further went on and added, "In that moment of trauma, her phone came, and I talked to her on the phone for half an hour. And when I put the phone down, I said, ‘My God! I feel so happy when I talk to her.’ It struck me in that instant that when I am talking to her I am so happy."
Revealing details about their live-in relationship of over year and a half, Aamir Khan had remarked, "Then we began dating, we began seeing each other. We lived together for a year or year and a half before we got married. I can never imagine my life without Kiran as my partner. I feel very blessed and I'm very grateful for it." When Aamir Khan was further probed to tell if he liked strong women, he agreed and was quoted as saying, "I like strong women - my first wife Reena and my second wife Kiran. I like people who are strong, I don't want to break them down like women and men." He added that he feels Reena is a wonderful person as well. "Sometimes a relationship doesn't work but I have a lot of love and respect for her. In fact, we are working together on this Paani project. She is the COO of the company. She usually runs work from the office.”
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao inspired everyone when they gave birth to their firstborn, Azad Rao Khan through IVF surrogacy. Announcing the same, Aamir had said, “Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. We are humbled by the greatness of god and the miracles of science." After Kiran faced a number of health complications and multiple miscarriages, the couple decided to opt for this procedure.
Aamir Khan was quoted as saying, “We are very proud of the whole thing. She had a number of miscarriages. We realised that her uterus lining is very thin for her to carry the baby for nine months. Which is why we opted for this method.” In a press statement, Aamir said, "Biologically, the baby is ours."
