And now, once again, Deepika received backlash from internet users as she showered love on Alia for her Met Gala debut.
On May 5, 2023, Alia Bhatt and Vogue magazine took to their respective Instagram handle and dropped a BTS video from the former's Met Gala 2023 debut. In the video, the actress can be seen getting reading for her Met Gala appearance. She looked ethereal in a Prabal Gurung white-coloured, heavily embellished gown. Soon after the video went live, Alia's fans and industry friends flooded the comment section with cutesy reactions. However, it was her husband, Ranbir Kapoor's ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone comment that caught everyone's attention. Reacting to the video, Deepika wrote:
"You did it!"

However, Deepika's comment on Alia's post didn't go well with the netizens, and they massively trolled the former. Reacting to Deepika's comment, one of the social media users wrote, 'STOP FAKING IT, damage control!" Another one commented, "ab toh damage control ke liye likhna hi padhta hai yeh sab." One more user reacted to Deepika's comment and wrote, "late damage control by pr stop this fake support. With your post and following hate account u proved such an insecure person you are....Not your fan anymore and kudos to Priyanka for hyping her colleges."
On May 2, 2023, a Twitter account that goes by 'Instajustice13', claimed that Deepika has followed their backup account. They posted a short video of the same on their Twitter handle. For the unversed, the handle often posts tweets to troll Alia Bhatt. As soon as the post went viral, the internet users flooded the comment section with their nasty reactions. While some were seen supporting DP, others started trolling her. One user reacted to the post and had written, "Deepika I never liked you. Neither u r good human being nor good actor." Sharing the BTS pictures, the gorgeousness gave a glimpse of what was happening backstage. However, a section of internet users trolled the actress and called her insecure for sharing the pictures just before Alia's Met Gala debut. Reacting to her pictures, one of the social media users had written, "Why are you posting so called Oscar pic and sharing met Gala look just before Alia's met Gala debut".
