After tying the knot as per Konkani and Anand Karaj rituals, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone became each other's forever on November 14-15, 2018. The newly-weds were then welcomed at Ranveer’s residence by the Bhavnanis, post which they left for Bangalore to host their first wedding reception. Deepika and Ranveer looked no less than a royal couple at their wedding reception function which was hosted by the Padukone family for their relatives and friends from the sport fraternity in Bangalore. Deepika’s parents, Ujjala Padukone and Prakash Padukone hosted the reception.
On November 24, 2018, Ranveer’s sister, Ritika Bhavnani hosted a post-wedding bash for her bhaiya and bhabhi at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. It was a gothic-themed post-wedding party for DeepVeer and our social media timelines flooded with the pictures and videos from the bash. While Ranveer Singh gave everyone some modern-day Khilji feels in Manish Arora outfit, Deepika channelled 'Frida Kahlo on acid' (in Ranveer’s words) by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and matched up to Ranveer’s level of fashion extravagance.
Coming to their second wedding reception which is hosted for their close friends and relatives in Mumbai, the first look of Deepika and Ranveer is here. The newly-wedded couple can be seen twinning in ivory and golden. Deepika is wearing ivory and gold chikankari lehenga and veil by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her Mumbai reception. Sharing a picture of her, they wrote, "ETHEREAL ROMANCE @deepikapadukone is an absolute dream in this gorgeous Ivory and Gold Chikankari ensemble. Jewellery by @sabooatajsk." She complemented her ensemble with a heavy round gold and pearl necklace with a pair of diamond statement earrings and her red chooda and red sindoor were the highlights of her entire look. On the other hand, Ranveer wore a bandhgala sherwani and white dhoti style pants by Rohit Bal.
The white and gold wedding reception invite for today was very simple and classy and it bears the names of the two families, Padukones and Bhavnanis as the hosts of the evening. Do you know Deepika and Ranveer have asked their guests to not shower them with wedding gifts? Well, as per the reports, Deepika and Ranveer have asked their guests to instead donate it to her NGO, 'The Live Love Laugh Foundation'. As per a Mid-Day report, "The bride and groom have requested the guests to not shower them with gifts. If they wish to give them anything, they've requested that donations be made to Deepika's foundation that actively works towards creating awareness and removing the stigma around depression. Both Ranveer and Deepika are deeply committed to the cause and want to involve all their guests in the good deed."
Speaking about her ‘man’ in an interview with Filmfare Middle East, Deepika Padukone had once stated, “Ranveer Singh is dependable, trustworthy and my go-to person.” Adding further, she said, “I am bored when people say they love his energy. The man has so much more! He is an extremely good human being. He is kind and good to people. He is very real, emotional and sensitive. He is a man who is not afraid to cry and I love that about him. He is a man!”
Speaking about the impression she had of Ranveer at the time of Band Baaja Baaraat, Deepika revealed, "For people who don't know him, he might come across as attention-seeking. And I completely understand that because I have to admit I had the same impression of him when he was doing Band Bajaa Baarat. I'd feel like he is too much, too loud and too this and too that. Until we started doing Ram-Leela together and before that during all our workshops is when I realised that what you see is what you get."
