From Deepika confirming their dating period on Koffee With Karan to be ‘six years’ to Ranveer revealing that within six months into the relationship, he knew she would become the mother of his children, DeepVeer have become the biggest newsmakers of this year!
Now that Ranveer and Deepika are officially man and wife, some big revelations about their past and future are breaking the internet. One such confession is that Deepika got engaged to the love of her life, Ranveer four years ago. In an interview with Filmfare, Deepika revealed details about their 2014 engagement, what took her so long to say yes to Ranveer for the wedding and what makes everything so special with him.
There have been speculations about Deepika and Ranveer, in 2016 as well as January 2018, but neither of them confirmed or denied the rumours, which faded away after a while. It was even speculated that the couple got engaged during their Sri Lanka vacation on Deepika’s birthday on January 5, 2018. These conjectures were even followed by the reports that Bhavnanis had gifted their hone-wali-bahu, a diamond ring and a Sabyasachi saree.
In another tête-à-tête with Pinkvilla, Deepika revealed her birthday and honeymoon plans, "It's going to be extra special this time. It's going to be a much-needed break, combined with the honeymoon and my first birthday (as a wife). It's all of these things combined and hopefully, also the celebration of the success of Simmba." Deepika added, "We're looking forward to the break but we also have one big task ahead of us, which is this Friday (Simmba's release). So, the holiday is really not on our minds right now, the film is. We'll think about the holiday after that." It has been a special year for Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and it seems like the newly-weds have made sure to end the year with a bang! While Ranveer’s 2018 release, Simmba has been garnering good reviews and love from his fans, Deepika became one of the most followed stars in India with about 30 million followers on Instagram. Celebrating this milestone, Deepika shared a video of herself moonwalking in the happiness of her achievement. Soon after she shared the adorable video, her doting husband commented on it, “Hahaha! Smooth!” followed by an applauding emoji.
On December 24, 2018, Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath hosted a grand wedding reception in Mumbai which saw all the big shots from the tinsel town. The newly-weds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone too graced the ceremony and all eyes were on them, literally! Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba had hit the theatres on December 28, 2018, and the actor has been busy promoting the film from the past few days. During a promotional media interaction, Ranveer was asked about Deepika’s reaction to his performance in the film, to which he replied, "She is very proud of me and as well as Rohit (Shetty) sir. She gave so many compliments to Rohit sir. So, I felt that should praise me as well." Ranveer further added, "We have an association since the film 'Chennai Express' so, she was very thrilled and very happy." Earlier Ranveer revealed Deepika's classic reaction to the trailer of Simmba, when she said to Ranveer, "Hot lag raha hai!".
