Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary or shall we say, Ram and Sita, of Indian television, are a happily married couple. The two came in the limelight when they played protagonists in a television show, Ramayan, which aired on NDTV Imagine. They looked so good together that everyone wanted to see them like that in real life too. Well, the prayers of their fans were answered, as this on-screen jodi turned into a real-life one by tying the knot on February 15, 2011. Talking about the first time, when they saw each other, then Debina saw Gurmeet for the first time at a talent hunt show where the two co-participated. However, there was nothing in-between them at that moment. The credit of their moving on from the 'friendship' phase to the 'lover' phase go to their common friends. After a series of meetings, both Gurmeet and Debina started feeling something for each other. And on a day after Valentine’s Day, they had a registered marriage at their home in the presence of their families, and a very few close friends. Nothing loud, nothing flashy; just a simple wedding for two people in love! Now, on their wedding anniversary, Debina is the one, who surprised her husband, Gurmeet Choudhary with an eternal gift of love.
On the special occasion of their wedding anniversary, Debina took on Instagram and revealed that she has got a tattoo of her husband, Gurmeet’s short name, ‘Guru’ with a small red heart on her wrist. Sharing the picture of the tattoo, Debina also wrote a beautiful caption that could be read as “Finallyyyyyyyy. Got myself inked for the first time. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LOVE @guruchoudhary.” On the other side, Gurmeet felt short of words in expressing his emotions after receiving such an incredibly beautiful and romantic anniversary gift from his wife, Debina. The actor took on Instagram and shared the same picture with a heartfelt that can be read as “Oh my god!! This is the bestest gift everrrr. And surprise to another level. I was completely taken aback. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY DARLING. And to many many more @debinabon.” Take a look. Speaking about her tattoo in a conversation with the Bombay Times. Debina said, “It was only during the initial years that we made an effort to give each other a surprise or a gift during our anniversary, as after that God gave us so much that we never thought about making the effort to surprise each other. Though this year I thought about something different to surprise Gurmeet with! Not something materialistic but something special which we both would cherish for the rest of our lives! And so the tattoo with his name on my hand was what I finalized on. I had honestly never thought that I would put a mark on my body that was not given by God, but for my husband who is the most integral part of my life, I decided to do this.”
Debina once shared with the Indian Forums about how she and Gurmeet met and started seeing each other more often after a series of meetings. She had revealed, "He (Gurmeet) was my roommate's boyfriend's friend, and he always used to come along with his friend to our place. While they both chatted, I and Gurmeet used to spend some time together and this went on for days. After a couple of months, my roommate's boyfriend shifted to some other place, and thus he too stopped coming. It was then that we started missing each other and felt that we shared a bond."
Gurmeet is known to be one of the most romantic actors, be it on the small screen or the big screen. When asked in an interview with The Times of India, about how romantic is Gurmeet in real-life, this is what his wife, Debina shared laughingly, “Trust me, actors who are romantic on-screen are not so in real life!” Well, we hope Debina gets her share of love from Gurmeet after this special gift from her.
