Darsheel Safary’s performance as the dyslexic child ‘Ishaan Nandakishore Awasthi’ in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par won the hearts of a massive audience, who couldn’t stop applauding such a terrific performance. Fast forward to now, the once-child-artist, Darsheel has grown up to be a handsome young lad, who is all set to seek new opportunities. Interestingly, Aamir Khan recently had announced working on a sequel of Taare Zameen Par, carrying forward the same thematic legacy with his new project, Sitaare Zameen Par. However, if reports are to be believed, Darsheel hasn’t been roped in to be a part of it. And now, the actor opened up on the same.
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Darsheel Safary opened up about not getting roped in for Aamir Khan’s next announced venture, Sitaare Zameen Par, which would carry forward the same thematic background of the 2007-film, Taare Zameen Par. For the unversed, Darsheel was the chief protagonist for the latter. Speaking about not bagging the film this time, Darsheel highlighted how this hasn’t been the first time that people have asked him about the same. In his words:
“I just tell them if it’s fate, we would definitely work in the future. I don’t know on which film, but we would.”

In the same interaction, Darsheel spoke up about whether he finds himself fitting the bill of all the pre-requisites it needs to make it big in Bollywood. He even highlighted whether it scares him to be capable of becoming competitors of the already established actors, and become the next big thing. He mentioned:
“It did initially, I won’t lie, I would also get nervous. However, I have realized that there are certain requirements that the film industry has. There are voids that one needs to fill in.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Darsheel addressed the long break he took from his acting spree, after making it a success as a child artist. He revealed that as he wished to focus and complete his acting before making any other endeavour in acting, many thought that he’d already left the showbiz. Moreover, he emphasised that his long break ended up starting everything again from scratch, wherein he had to appear for multiple auditions before landing in anything substantial.

In an earlier interview with ETimes, Darsheel opened up about the impact his performance in Taare Zameen Par made in his real life, post the success of the film. He mentioned people around him started to view him in a different light altogether. Elaborating more, he explained:
“I faced bullying in school by my seniors. Even my watchman in my building has a certain fixed notion about actors. Worse, you are not even aware that the world is looking at you with different eyes. Even your family starts looking at you differently at least to some extent. Let me take you back to the first day I went to school after 'TZP' was released. I was surrounded. My tie was pulled. I had to take a half-day to save myself. Today, however, I understand that an actor has to be prepared for such things."
