A report by Nine.com.au and news.com.au revealed that the incident took place on September 13, 2026, and Damien was seen chasing his daughter around the house before he brutally killed her. The incident of Damien chasing his 4-year-old daughter was witnessed by his wife and the mother of his children on CCTV footage.

The bodies of Damien and his kids were found after a worker went to check on them, following a request from Damien's wife and the mother of the kids. Nine.com.au and news.com.au reported that the mom was out of town and was on a call with Damien when she heard the cry of her 4-year-old daughter, Laura, inside their home in Southern Bali. Reportedly, she was saying, 'Stop, Daddy'. The call reportedly got disconnected, which led the mom of two to look at the CCTV camera, which was angled down.
Upon fixing the angle of the camera through her phone, the mom witnessed a horrific scene of Damien chasing their daughter around their home, as the little one, reportedly continued to say, 'I love you, daddy'. According to the police, Damien might have killed his 6-year-old son, Archie, before he chased his daughter down and eventually took her life as well. Laura was trying to escape; however, she could not. Following committing the crime, Damien reportedly took his own life.
Damien John Shaw was struggling mentally, as shared by his friend
Damien John Shaw lost his father when he was just 15. Not only that, but he also lost one of his brothers, and his mother reportedly passed away a few days ago due to an illness. According to Damien's friend, he was a dedicated father and was not working. Perth Now reported that he used to work as an integrated rating crew member in the maritime industry in his locality and worked there for almost 40 years.
The horrific incident has again raised concerns about men's mental health, as reportedly, one of Shaw's friends revealed that he was dealing with a tough phase mentally before he committed the double murder-suicide.
According to Perth Now, Damien's friend mentioned that the father of two was struggling mentally when they last spoke. The friend also revealed that during one of their conversation, Damien spoke about killing himself after he lost USD 140K in a recent venture. Nothing more about the same could be known.
Damien's friend recently revealed that the latter loved his kids, and the last time they met, he was all set to buy books for his daughter. The friend further mentioned that Damien, who was not into drugs or alcohol, was struggling mentally and was about to cry when they met. Speaking about Damien, his friend revealed to Perth Now:
"He was on his way to the book store at Bintang market to get a book for his daughter, he loved his kids, we would see them at the beach all the time and he took them to school every day. He didn’t drink or use drugs. He said he wanted to kill himself, he had had enough. He was angry and frustrated... I told him not to do anything silly. He loved boxing and I said ‘lets train together. Call me. I’m happy to come catch up even if you just want to walk on the beach. If you need a hug mate, I’m here’. At that point, he started to get upset, and I could see he wanted to cry."
