The entertainment industry has waited for months to know about the reality behind the 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas' tragic demise, but the case was surrounded by uncertainty all this time. It all began in September 2025 when Celeste Rivas's remains were found inside an abandoned Tesla registered under rising rapper, D4vd's name. Since then, investigators, prosecutors, and the public have waited to know what really happened to her, whether the singer was involved, and why no charges were filed in the case. However, it appears that the long wait has finally come to an end, as a significant development is underway.
According to TMZ, sources connected to the Celeste Rivas homicide case have revealed that the grand jury currently hearing the testimony in the case is not just the one that will investigate the case. Instead, they are also expected to vote on indictments. Prosecutor, Beth Silverman, known for managing high-profile murder prosecutions, reportedly holds the opinion that D4vd was involved in Celeste's death. Further, the outlet revealed that D4vD's manager, Robert Morgenroth, has testified for several days in the case.

He reportedly shared his frustration over the intense questioning about why they did not contact the police earlier in the matter. For those unaware, grand jury proceedings are secret, and legal insiders have revealed that in this case the jury would follow a specific prosecutorial direction when a suspect does not participate or present a defense, as defendants do not have that right in grand jury proceedings. However, its standard is much lowerr than a trial court. According to sources, the jury may continue hearing testimony until February 2025. Consequently, they would take time to decided whether and whom will be levied with the official charges of murder.

Despite the public attention and criticism over the matter, legal experts held the opinion that police could not arrest D4vd without adequate evidence and probable cause. Meanwhile, the ownership of the Tesla where Celeste's remains were found, and some random social media speculation, was not enough to prove any charges against him in the court of law. On the other hand, ABC News legal analyst, Brian Buckmire explained that the authorities required an official autopsy and forensic confirmation to pursue a criminal action in the case. Later, the LA County medical examiner deferred the final ruling on the cause and manner of her death.

Other experts told NBC News that premature charges against D4vd could risk his possible future prosecution. Still, the authorities continued their investigation, classifying it as a death case. They even visited the rapper's residence and took the electronic devices for investigation and testimony purposes.

However, the law enforcement did not comment on those viral claims. D4vd, who was on a world tour, halted his concerts and took part in the investigation. Later, Celeste's mother revealed that she had dated someone named David before going missing, and D4vd's real name is David Anthony Burke, which further raised eyebrows. There is no confirmation about their bond, but it will be important to see how the legal system brings justice to Celeste Rivas.
