Crissy Froyd Reacts To Being Fired For Criticising Dianna Russini Amid Mike Vrabel Drama, 'Regret 0'

Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel's controversy has been intensified with each passing day. Which began with leaked photos of the duo, ended up making Dianna leave her position as an NFL reporter and insider from The Athletic. Not only this, the incident even came with a heavy price for another NFL reporter, Crissy Froyd.

Recently, USA Today took the step of firing Crissy Froyd for an independent comment that she made, criticising Dianna Russini amid the Mike Vrabel case and her resignation. Now, Crissy broke her silence about the same and mentioned that she has zero regrets about what she said.

Crissy Froyd breaks the silence over her termination from USA Today for criticising Dianna Russini amid Mike Vrabel drama

Crissy Froyd, as per her LinkedIn, has been with USA Today Sports Media Group for the last 10 years and 11 months. She started as a staff writer back in 2017 and was working as a freelance writer with the publication, currently. Well, she recently made a comment on Dianna Russini's resignation following Mike Vrabel drama, which led USA Today to end its contract with Crissy.

Crissy Froyd took to her X and commented on the same, stating that she has zero regret about what she said, and she stands behind what she said. She further stated that she has been very transparent and has done nothing wrong. She also stated how another 'Nancy Armour column' about Dianna was alright to be published, while her independent comment on social media, that too being a freelancer, could end her contract. Crissy further asked people to be bold enough to speak up. She penned:

"I feel I've been very transparent and did nothing wrong. I also find it so interesting that a Nancy Armour column was able to be published about Dianna Russini setting women back on USAT, but that my comments as a freelancer on my own social media about her were not fine. Be bold and speak out. Will it make a martyr out of you? Maybe. But some things are worth it and some are not."

Crissy Froyd also talked to TMZ about her termination from USA Today. She revealed that it's really emotional for her, given that she has spent half of her life working with the publication, while adding that she doesn't have any kind of regret for what comments she made and that she would never make any comment besides those she cannot stand because she knows the consequences.

Crissy is beyond distraught about everything that happened, but she is equally proud of what she has achieved. In another X post, Crissy dropped the mail she got before two calls that eventually ended her association with USA Today. In the mail, it was mentioned that her comment on Dianna Russini was being linked to the publication, leading them to make the decision.

What did Crissy Froyd say about Dianna Russini?

Dianna Russini made the decision to resign from The Athletic, following the Mike Vrabel drama. It was Crissy, who took to her social media and made a comment on the same, saying that she was sure that Dianna was asked to submit the resignation or she would be fired instead. She further made some comments about having an idea about what Russini was up to. She also said, Russini's behaviour was the 'worst kept secret in the NFL reporting world'. Her tweet could be read as:

"I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years,” she claimed. “It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way. It is almost certainly all true, the worst kept secret in the NFL reporting world for a while. I struggle to understand the positioning here after that was published, but that apparently I as an independent contractor cannot make my own statements on my own social media accounts."
