South Korean actress, Cha Chung Hwa has gained immense popularity in recent years after she starred in popular K-dramas such as Crash Landing On You, Mr. Queen, and Hometown Cha Cha Cha. The 43-year-old actress first stepped into the world of glitz and glamour in 2005 as a theatre actress in the musical, Backstreet Story. Eventually, she explored other roles in showbiz and transitioned from theatre to acting on TV.
While she had a humble beginning with minor roles in films such as Harmony in 2010 and As One in 2012, Chung Hwa stole the limelight when she portrayed the character of ‘Court Lady Choi’ in the 2020 K-drama, Mr. Queen. Her portrayal of the character in the same drama earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2023, she was seen in Kokdu: Season of Deity, See You in My 19th Life, and Song Of The Bandits. More recently, she made a cameo appearance in the fantasy drama, My Demon.

Cha Chung Hwa is on cloud nine as she announced via her agency that she is expecting her first child just three months after her wedding. On January 24, 2024, the actress’ agency, IOK Company, confirmed the news and released an official statement on her behalf, mentioning that the Hallyu actress is all set to embark on a new phase of her life. The statement can be read as:
“Cha Chung Hwa is joyfully preparing for motherhood, and she has shared this wonderful news with her loved ones.”

The 43-year-old Hallyu actress, Cha Chung Hwa got married in a hush-hush ceremony, attended by their family and close friends only, in October 2023. She tied the knot with a non-celebrity businessman, who is reportedly two years younger than her. The couple had known each other for a long time. Hence, the two decided to take the leap of faith and get hitched last year. Given the non-celebrity status of the groom, many details about him were not shared in the public domain.
Cha Chung Hwa’s agency shared ethereal pictures of the actress back when she said ‘I do’ to the love of her life. In the statement, she expressed her gratitude for the support and love she received after the announcement of her marriage. In the pictures, the 43-year-old looked like an angel in a white gown, featuring a sweetheart neckline and tulle detailing all over it. She accessorised her look with a simple earring and a half-bun hairdo. In the other glimpses, Cha Chung Hwa was wearing a full-sleeved gown with threadwork all over it, perfectly hugging her slim figure. She wore earrings and tied her hair into a bun to complete her look. Her agency, IOK Company, asked people to give her a lot of support. The statement can be read as:
"Please give lots of blessings to Cha Chung Hwa, who is preparing for a new start. Cha Chung Hwa, who always acts with sincerity, plans to repay [viewers] with great acting as an actress in the future, so please give her lots of support and interest."
