Ahead of its release, he dropped a bombshell on his Instagram Stories on June 30, 2026. He mentioned that his estranged mom, Kate Gosselin, would pray to stop herself from hitting him. However, the most shocking part was that it all reportedly happened when Collin was just 2 years old. Amid this, Collin’s stepmom, Colleen Conrad’s sweetest reaction to his love-filled post surfaced.

Collin Gosselin addressed his stepmom, Colleen has his 'real mom'

Collin Gosselin penned a heartfelt note for his stepmom, Colleen, on her birthday. A few days back, Collin took to his Instagram handle and shared an adorable snap of him with his stepmom. However, it was his love-filled message for Colleen that stole the spotlight. For the uninitiated, on June 17, 2026, Collin announced his forthcoming memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.

Coincidentally, on the same day, Collin’s stepmom, Colleen, who is his dad’s ex-girlfriend, had her birthday. In the note, Collin mentioned Colleen as his real mom. He recounted the time when Colleen came into his life and chose to be his mom. He described Colleen as hardworking and passionate. He wrote:

"I didn’t plan this at all, but coincidentally on the day of the official announcement of my book, it is Colleen’s birthday. She is the strongest woman I know, who stepped in at the toughest part of my life and chose to be a mother to me. Happy birthday to my wonderful, hardworking, passionate, and I could go on… to my real mom. I love you so much. Also, I had to add a Rascal Flatts song, because we always sing Rascal Flatts songs together. Collin & Colleen."

Colleen has the sweetest reaction to her stepson, Collin Gosselin's love-filled birthday wish

Colleen got emotional after seeing her stepson, Collin’s love-filled birthday wish. She mentioned that she would definitely sing a Rascal Flatts song to him and his former half-siblings, Jesse and Jordan. For those unaware, Jon Gosselin and Colleen co-parented their children. Colleen has Jesse and Jordan from a previous marriage, while Collin is the son of Colleen’s ex-partner, Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin. Commenting on Collin’s post, Colleen described him as her son. She wrote:

"This made me cry, and yes I would sing it to you, Jesse and Jordan! That is my wish! I’ll always be here for you and you are my son. I love you!"

Collin’s former half-sister, Jordan, also commented on the post. She wrote, "I love you, and so beyond grateful you came into our family." Netizens also showered love on Collin’s heartfelt post for his stepmom, Colleen. A user wrote, "As a bonus mom myself to a child that thinks of me as her real mother, I can’t love and appreciate this post enough! I grew up watching you and still love to watch you grow, Collin." Another user penned, "100% a real parent does not have to be blood, just the one who stepped up and loved and guided you on your journey."
