In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Colin Farrell admitted that he was involved in a platonic love affair with the late Elizabeth Taylor despite their 41-year age gap. Sparing no details, he shared that they met in the final years of Elizabeth's life while she was being treated in the same hospital where his youngest son, Henry, was being born. He recalled that after he bumped into Elizabeth's manager, he thought about sending her some flowers to extend his regards. He said:
"I got home a few days later with Henry, and I was thinking about Elizabeth and how she was doing, and I called my publicist, and I said I bumped into some people of Elizabeth Taylor’s, some friends of hers, could I send her some flowers?”
At the mention of flowers, Colin found out that, in a pleasant coincidence, Elizabeth had also sent him some orchids around the same time. He even found out that the flowers came with a handwritten note from the Cleopatra star, who was known for her list of seven ex-husbands.
Soon, Colin Farrell managed to arrange a meeting with Elizabeth through his publicist. He claimed that this was the beginning of a year and a half of two years that was “really cool.” He confessed, "I just adored her. She was a spectacular, spectacular woman. I wanted to be number eight, but we ran out of road.”
According to the actor, they bonded over their mutual battles with insomnia. Colin and Elizabeth would even have conversations at two o’clock in the morning, which would last into the wee hours.
As the bond between Colin and Elizabeth deepened, the former said that it became his “last romantic relationship.” In his words:
"It was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I’m projecting, but the last kind of romantic relationship I had, which was never consummated."
It is worth mentioning that while she was alive, Elizabeth Taylor was always upfront about her feelings. She once stated, “I've always admitted that I'm ruled by my passions.” Colin Farrell’s revelation showcases that Elizabeth truly meant every word she said.

This time, however, it seems like the actor decided to shave his head for real to make his lengthy makeup routine simpler.
