Love knocked Charu’s door for the second time and this time, the Cupid’s arrow had stuck with her ‘forever’! Before Rajeev Sen, Charu Asopa was engaged to her on-screen brother, Neeraj Malviya in 2016, but unfortunately things didn’t work out between them and they parted ways in 2017. And then came her dream man, Rajeev Sen who swept her off her feet with the unconditional love and fast-forward to June 9, 2019, when they got married. Rajeev and Charu were pronounced husband and wife in a court marriage a few days before their grand wedding in Goa.
On June 14, 2019, Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa’s pre-wedding ceremonies began with an evening engagement ceremony followed by mehendi night. For the mehendi ceremony, Charu channelised her inner fashionista and looked stunning in a floral pink lehenga with a strappy golden blouse. She accentuated her look with kripaan that is carried by the groom on his wedding day in a Punjabi wedding. She finished off her look with a maang teeka, a choker neckpiece and a pair of earrings. For the engagement, Charu Asopa broke the stereotypes and looked stunning in a white gown with a tulle skirt and lace detailed sleeve-corset, while her groom, Rajeev Sen complemented her in a beige blazer and dark pants. Charu accentuated her look with highlighted cheeks and side-parted open hair. In a slo-mo video shared by Rajeev on his Instagram, he can be seen opening the champagne bottle and later, the lovebirds sealed it with a kiss. He captioned the video as, “I love you for a 1000 years & beyond #rajakibittu #engagement”. On February 27, 2019, Charu Asopa turned a year older and the love of her life, Rajeev Sen decided to make the day even more special for his ladylove. Posting an all-smiling picture of Charu, Rajeev had written, “Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl in my life. May all your dreams come true and may you have all the pancakes too. Love you #birthdaygirl #soulmate #precious #mybaby @asopacharu.” Soon, Charu had commented on his post with a lovely reply, “Hehehe, thank you babie. Love you too raja” along with heart emoticons. To which, Rajeev replied, “@asopacharu You are the best”.
Recalling their first meeting and how love blossomed between them, Charu Asopa had shared in an interview, “After our first meeting, we had decided to catch up again over coffee, but I left for my hometown, Bikaner. I was on a much-needed break after my show, Jiji Maa, ended. In fact, I hadn’t decided when to return. However, as luck would have it, I was offered KarnSangini and had to report on the set the very next day. I texted Rajeev from the set and told him that we could meet for coffee. I had assumed that the meeting would end in half an hour. However, we went on talking for hours until I told him that I had to leave as I had an early call time the next day. We started chatting, spending time together and the rest, as they say, is history. I don’t know if I can call it love at first sight, but it looks like that.”
Revealing what they like about each other, Charu Asopa had remarked, “Rajeev is good-looking and honest. He is more romantic among the two of us. Also, he pampers me and takes care of me. He feels that I am real, simple and without any facade.” Further sharing the best part about their relationship, Charu continued, “Both of us are looking at a relationship for keeps. The best aspect of our relationship is that we are transparent. We know about each other’s past and have never felt the need to hide anything from each other. I feel proud of myself for the way I emerged from that break-up. And now, my life has taken a new turn.
