Television actress, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen tied the knot in June 2019, and they were blessed with a baby girl, Ziana Sen, in November 2021. However, soon after their daughter's arrival, Charu and Rajeev's marriage hit a rough patch. In June 2022, Charu decided to part ways with Rajeev and sent a legal notice to him. However, on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the couple reconciled for the sake of their daughter, Ziana.
Earlier, on September 1, 2022, Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa had shared a beautiful family picture in a collaborative post on their respective IG handles. In the photo, Charu was seen carrying their daughter, Ziana in her arms while Rajeev stood beside her. Alongside it, they penned a note revealing that they have decided to give their marriage a second chance.

Unfortunately, once again, Rajeev and Charu are going through troubles in their marriage, and they have finally decided to file for a divorce. In an interview with the ETimes, Charu Asopa opened up about her failed marriage with her husband, Rajeev Sen and shared that she tried everything to save it. Mentioning that it was her second marriage, Charu added that she feels that she and Rajeev are not meant for each other. The actress revealed that Rajeev has even raised his hand on her and said:
“No one gets married with an intention to end it. I didn’t want to regret my decision to call it off. So, I tried everything I could to save it, also because this was my second marriage. Iss sab mein mazaak toh mera hi bann raha tha, but I thought ki kya pata shaadi chal jaaye. Yeh karte karte ab ye ek tamaasha bann chuka hai. I think we aren’t made for each other... yeh shaadi kabhi work karegi nahi. Rajeev is temperamental, has abused and even raised his hand on me once or twice."
Charu Asopa revealed that she regretted her decision to give the marriage a second chance and shared that her family told her that she was doing the right thing. Mentioning that she will restart the divorce proceedings soon, the actress shared that she has got a house for rent to live with her daughter, Zianna. In her words:
“It was the biggest mistake. Aur dirty hota jaayega agar yeh shaadi aur drag hui toh. It will get unbearably toxic for Ziana. When I disclosed his ways to my family, they told me that I was taking the right step by parting ways. I have already got a house for rent. I will go straight there when I return to Mumbai. I will initiate divorce proceedings and hope he agrees to it without causing more trouble. Like previously, I haven’t asked for alimony. I don’t want to drag this marriage anymore. I have already wasted three-and-a-half years.”

Charu also claimed that Rajeev has refused to provide for their daughter, Ziana. When Rajeev was asked about the same, he said that he never refused to provide financial aid to their daughter and revealed that he wants to pay for her education in every way possible. Talking about the same, he said:
“Clearly, two unhappy people living together and not even trying to make things better or adjust even after we were blessed with a beautiful daughter. I would say both of us are equally responsible for it to reach this stage. Who said I have refused to provide for Ziana? In my multiple legal notices sent to Charu through my lawyers, I mentioned that even though my wife doesn’t want any alimony, I still wish to take care of my daughter financially and her education in every way possible.”
Responding to Charu's claim to shift to the rented apartment and begin divorce proceedings, Rajeev shared that he never wanted a divorce as he had married her to be her partner for life. However, he mentioned that he too deserves a bit of happiness and love in his life and stated:
“She is most welcome to rent a house on the moon if she so desires. Whatever makes her happy. I never wanted a divorce. She did. I married her to give her happiness and to be her partner for life. But at the same time, I, too, deserve a bit of happiness and love. Charu needs to get out of her YouTube world and understand the importance of her family, more so now after we have been blessed with a beautiful daughter. I feel too much ego, pride, and bad friends have killed what could have been a beautiful marriage.”
