'Chak De India' Fame, Rio Kapadia Is No More, The Actor Passes Away At The Age Of 66

Rio Kapadia was one of the most popular faces in Bollywood. The actor rose to fame with his phenomenal performances in films like Chak De! India, Happy New Year, Mardaani, Agent Vinod, The Big Bull amongst others. He was last seen in the web series, Made In Heaven Season 2. And now, according to a report in India Today, the actor is no more and has left for the mortal planes.

Rio Kapadia passes away at the age of 66

According to a report by India Today, talented actor, Rio Kapadia is no more. The news was confirmed to the portal by Rio’s dear friend, Faisal Malik. He passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 66. The actor is survived by his wife, Maria Farah and their children, Aman and Veer. The last rites of the actor will be completed on September 15, 2023 at Goregaon, Mumbai.

Rio Kapadia’s television journey

Before making it big in the film industry, Rio Kapadia had started off his journey in the television world, and had been a part of several shows, including Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Mahabharat amongst others. Back in 2012, Rio, in an interview with Telly Chakkar, had opened up about getting frequently replaced in the film industry, and had revealed the problems the actors faced over there. He could be quoted as saying:

“I belong to no such group; I have grown up in a different way and have certain values in life. This is a very bad situation for any actor to be in, and many of them have faced this in the industry… his is the reason why not many of our new shows exists for a time span of more than two months. Gone are the days when shows used to run for a year to two years to a maximum of five to ten years."
