The murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old girl from Lake Elsinore, California, has to be one of the most horrendous cases of homicide in the past decade. The teen was last reported missing on April 5, 2024, and investigators believe she died somewhere around April 23, 2025, which makes it exactly one year since the murder. Her body was discovered months later, on September 5, 2025, the day after what would have been her 15th birthday. Her newly released autopsy report reveals unsettling details, including a missing eye and two missing fingers.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the officials released spine-chilling details about the teen's murder, based on whatever was left of Celeste's dismembered and significantly decomposed body, discovered in singer David Burke's (D4vd) black Tesla at a Hollywood Hills tow yard. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Celeste died from multiple penetrating injuries, and her death has been officially ruled a homicide. The report describes two wounds to her torso, one to the chest and another to the abdomen, both believed to be caused by a sharp object.

Authorities confirmed the teen had been killed and then was dismembered, with parts missing. One particular detail from the autopsy has grabbed attention, which states that two of Celeste's fingers, including a ring finger, were missing from her left hand. Now, social media is rife with an image, allegedly of Celeste's ring finger, suggesting she may have had a tattoo reading 'David'. Though Reddit threads and Instagram detectives are betting on it, this particular detail has not been officially confirmed in public records.

What the autopsy report revealed about the body

Investigators noted additional abrasions and extensive decomposition, which made it difficult to determine the full sequence of events. However, prosecutors allege that the teen was killed in April 2025 and that her remains were later mutilated and kept in a vehicle for months before being discovered at a tow yard in Los Angeles.

The medical examiner noted that Celeste’s left ring and pinky fingers were amputated, while a body diagram indicated that her right index finger, which had a 'Shhh....' tattoo, remained intact. To note, this tattoo was one of the pointers to identify the victim, given the unrecognisable state her body was found in.

Prosecutors claim D4vd killed Celeste using a sharp object on April 23, 2025, then allegedly waited weeks before dismembering her body, placing the remains in bags, and storing them in his Tesla’s front trunk for several months before they were found. Currently, the Romantic Homicide singer is facing charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. However, David has pleaded not guilty.

New disturbing digital evidence emerges from David Burke's possession

In the recent court hearing, prosecutors claimed that investigators found a "significant amount" of material depicting child sexual abuse on David's phone and cloud storage during the investigation. While the singer has not been separately charged for these claims at this stage, these findings are being examined to see if the D4vd had a pattern of dating minors. The singer's legal team maintains that he is innocent and that the evidence will ultimately support his defense.
