6 Celeb Couples, Who Opted For Eco-Friendly Weddings And Did Their Bit For The Better Environment

Spanning across decades, weddings have evolved and like how! Looking back at the time when our parents got married and the weddings nowadays, there's an evident drastic change. Gradually, weddings are breaking free of the norms, hence creating a surreal and personalised experience for the couple. If we told someone about planning an eco-friendly wedding years ago, it would mean compromising on the grandeur and overall aesthetics. But today, with couples opting for eco-friendly weddings, it's proved that they are equally appealing and exciting.

Be it the inspirational wedding favours of seed balls wrapped in muslin cloth and saplings in jute bags, DIY decor with handmade signages, creative and thoughtful wedding invites, incorporating sustainable materials or organizing the zero-waste wedding, the brides and grooms now are doing their bit for the environment. Even some celebrity couples have taken the sustainable and eco-friendly routes at their weddings and they are truly the celebrations worth featuring!

Here's a list of celeb couples, who opted for eco-friendly weddings and did their bit for the environment:

Milind and Ankita's wedding outfits were made of 'bamboo-silk textile, which is not only organic but is handwoven and 100% biodegradable' as informed by their designer, Madhu Jain in an interview with Wedding Wire. The décor at their wedding was around the theme of nature including marigolds, jasmine garlands and banana leaves, all of which are locally available and are considered auspicious. Even the jewellery worn by them around their heads were made of baby lotuses.

The materials used for the minimal decor we went for were completely biodegradable and natural."
