Why is Carrot Top's team seeking an emergency court order?
Just days after Carrot Top's suicide attempt that left his fans worried about his well-being, the comedian's team is heading to court. They intend to stop the man trying to extort Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Christopher Thompson, from filing damaging court documents. They believe that Brian Evans' motions and other documents are intended to harm Carrot Top. Pointing to the suicide attempt, the comedian’s lawyer said, “This is now an emergency in the most human sense.”
The lawyer said in the filing that Brian has already been harassing Carrot Top in court for over two years. He has been threatening the comedian by saying that he would release private information, including a sexually explicit video, if Carrot Top did not pay him money. As per the lawyer, Florida law “expressly recognizes the serious privacy and psychological harms associated with dissemination of sexually explicit images and permits a private cause of action for violation.”
In the motion filed by Carrot Top’s team, they want Brian to be barred from making any new filings without the court’s approval. They also want the court to grant any relief “necessary to protect the proceedings and prevent irreversible disclosure.”
Who is Carrot Top’s alleged extortionist, Brian Evans?
According to Carrot Top’s team, Brian Evans has been trying to extort the comedian for a long time. Brian reportedly demanded USD 2 million from Carrot Top just days before his suicide attempt. In messages obtained by TMZ, Brian had proposed to make a deal where he would drop the legal fight against Carrot Top if he got the USD 2 million out of him. He promised to keep the deal private. Brian gave Carrot Top’s team until September 23, 2026, to accept the deal.
As the legal battle continues for now, many have become curious to know who Carrot Top's extortionist, Brian Evans, is. He is believed to be a singer, songwriter, and author. After he came to the limelight as Carrot Top's extortionist, Brian took to his X (formerly Twitter) to refute the claims that have been levied against him. He said that Carrot Top’s PR and lawyer are actually spinning the facts. He urged the public not to believe them and wrote:
“The PR firm for Carrot Top and his lawyer did a great job spinning the facts to avoid having to actually address the facts. My turn is coming to be able to tell my side of the story. Don’t fall for the bullshit because that’s all it is. If I was, as they say…I wouldn’t be typing from home.”
In another post shared by Brian on the platform, he thanked those who sent him supportive messages. He said that he was glad that some people out there “actually have a brain.”
Later, Brian Evans shared a YouTube video in which he opened up about his side of the story. He once again reiterated that he never extorted Carrot Top. According to him, the lawyer who represents the comedian does not even know him. Brian added that he did not threaten to “publish anything” and claimed that the “video was deleted.”
