BTS is led by Rap Monster (RM), aka Kim Namjoon. He is regarded as the best leader in the world for his calm demeanour and splendid intellect. RM recently did an interview with 032c magazine for their November 2023 edition, where he talked about his insecurities, the cons of the K-pop industry and what drives him to be the leader of such a popular band in contemporary times.

Namjoon very candidly opened up about his insecurities and said that he is not a narcissistic person. He also said that he wants to change something, it can be something around himself, people around him, or the world in general. RM thinks that he was born to transform something, and he feels he did it with his band, BTS. He said:

"I'm not a narcissistic person, and I've always been driven by my own insecurity. I'm a person who has so much dirt, filth, love, kindness, and consideration in me that I feel I would go insane if I didn't bring it out candidly into the world, in some way. And I'm a person who wants to change something, whether it's myself, people around me, the industry, or the world. I feel like I'm born to transform something, and I think I've done it once with BTS.”

BTS’ RM opened up about the hardest part of being in the K-pop industry

The K-pop industry is like any other showbiz in the world. From the outside it looks all glam and glitter, an ideal place to be in, but only people who are associated with the industry know about the dark reality of it. BTS’ leader, Kim Namjoon also shed some light on the hardest part of being in the K-pop industry.

He said that he's trying to be as honest as possible nowadays, which is rare given that Korean showbiz doesn't work that way. The BTS frontman also talked about how people in the industry are ‘so conscious’ of others and how they perceive others based on preference bias. He further added:

"I also try to let stuff out, and I'm getting better at it, but the hardest part is the K-pop industry's atmosphere. It's kind of sad to admit this, but people are so conscious of others, and many see only what they want. But I've done this for 10-11 years now. I think it's the right direction to move, where people like me, with some power, are a bit more honest. It's a time when more honesty is celebrated.”
