Brock Lesnar made everyone stop and watch at WrestleMania 42. The moment came right after his loss on Sunday night in Las Vegas. Fans were not just reacting to the result; they were trying to understand what happened next. Lesnar, one of the biggest names in WWE, sat quietly in the ring and removed his gloves and boots. That unexpected act is often seen as a sign of retirement in wrestling. The crowd quickly picked up on it, and the mood inside the stadium changed. People started wondering the same thing, is Brock Lesnar retiring?
The match itself was already a big talking point. Brock Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi, who was making his WrestleMania debut. This happened at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The result surprised many fans because Lesnar has been one of WWE’s most dominant stars for years. Lesnar did not rush out or react in anger. Instead, he sat in the middle of the ring. Slowly, he took off his gloves. Then he removed his boots and left them on the mat. In wrestling, that gesture has a deep meaning. Many legends have done this when they step away from the ring for good.

After that, Lesnar stood up, looked around, and took in the moment. He posed one last time for the fans. Then he shared a hug with his longtime manager, Paul Heyman. As he walked up the ramp, the crowd started chanting, “Thank you, Lesnar.” There was no speech after that, though. That is why the confusion started. Fans took to social media right away. One fan wrote, “I can’t believe Lesnar retired like this.” Another said, “Lesnar, Styles, and Cena all announced their retirement in the span of four months… WHAT IS HAPPENING?” Even after the show ended, there was no official statement from WWE. So, at this point, nothing is confirmed.

While fans are guessing about Lesnar’s future, another name is already part of the conversation, Gunther. He has been building a strong run in WWE. He recently defeated Seth Rollins by submission on Night 1 of WrestleMania 42. He has also been linked with top stars like Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles in recent storylines. Now, he has his eyes on Lesnar. In an interview with Complex, Gunther spoke openly about it. He said:
“I think he’s got his hands full right now. But yeah, I can do it. He’s not around that much, and you don’t see him much, so I’ve got to do my intel.”

He also added something interesting about Paul Heyman. Gunther said he is owed a favour by Heyman, which could help set up a match with Lesnar. He said, “But maybe a guy who owes me that knows what Brock Lesnar’s plans are.” This makes things more interesting. There were earlier plans for Gunther and Lesnar to face each other at WrestleMania 40. However, Lesnar was pulled from WWE programming at that time due to being linked to Janel Grant’s lawsuit, as reported by multiple outlets covering WWE news.

So now, even if WrestleMania 42 looked like a goodbye moment, there is still a chance that Lesnar could return. A match with Gunther is something fans have wanted for a long time, and WWE could still make it happen if Lesnar is not fully retired. Right now, there is no official confirmation about his status. The boots in the ring, the hug with Paul Heyman, and the crowd reaction all felt like a farewell. But until Lesnar or WWE says it clearly, the story is not finished.
